TO: All Members that Recently Sent Me a PM Volunteering to be a Moderator

Hi all!

First of all, I want to thank you for volunteering to be Moderators. It's very cool that so many people want to give a little something back to the City.

I had originally stated that I wanted to have the new Moderators chosen by August 15 and then add them to the moderating team by August 17.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, we had an overwhelming response and received more PM's than anticipated. Due to the overwhelming number of those who would like to volunteer, the dates have been pushed back.

I will let everyone know by August 29 and will add the new Moderators to the moderating team on September 1.

Thanks again for volunteering and I appreciate your understanding of the time delay.

Another delay...and I apologize for it.


The Moderating team agreed several months ago that we were going to bring a certain member onto the team as a Moderator. We all agreed that we trusted this member and, as stated many times, trust is our biggest concern.

I had decided to wait and bring this member onto the team when the rest of the new Mods came onto the team. That was one of the best decisions I've made in a while because it was discovered that this member was playing a lot of games with different Moderators, Super Moderators and myself in an effort to get certain members banned from the City and also in an effort to cause issues within the Moderating team itself. This member also made different accounts to do some additional dirty work. Of course, that member was banned due to the additional accounts.

Due to this huge blow when it comes to trust, we're being a little more cautious in choosing the new group of Moderators to join our team. We're having to check things more closely than usual and it's taking more time. Also, the team is just a little timid when it comes to trusting at this moment...with very good reason.

I'm going to discuss it with the team a little more but it looks like we've got another two week delay. I don't want to give you any solid dates because that wouldn't be fair. I also don't want to wait another full month to add new Moderators because we need more people now.

However, it's in the best interest of the City that we take this process of choosing Moderators more seriously than ever so that you guys will have good members taking care of our community.

Again, I apologize for the delay but it's for the good of the City.

I've decided to bring new Moderators onto the team slowly. I think we're going to add 2 at a time. So, I won't be sending out any rejection PM's until all new Moderators have been added because we're still in the process of choosing all of them.

The first set of 2 have been picked. We just have to confirm that they still want the gig.

I apologize for the delay, again. However, it's helped us learn a little more about who really digs the City and wants to help keep our community the kick ass place it is.

Thanks to all who volunteered and for continuing to be patient. I think this route is the best one for our community. So, hang in there...you could be next.
