Not having a lighter and/or not having any matches.

It's happened to me a few times, and we have an electric stove with the easy clean surface so theres no flame whatsoever. Thank god I'm a stone's throw away from a liquor store. Great for last minute lighters, and even better for last minute munchies.

At this hour, around me, everything is closed except for Wal-Mart. And I'll be damned if I go in there for only a lighter.

One time I couldn't find anything but matches and birthday candles. I lit the candle and then used it to hit the bowl. It was awful, wax ended up dripping everything, but it worked.

Wow, you didn't open your post with a "Greetings" or end it with a "Truly Yours"

But I agree with Sam_Spade, except if you can light a candle you can spark a joint. Car lighters are good too, if you have a ride.

That's why you do knife hits...

explained this in another topic but its really easy:

1) Heat up stove and place 2 kitchen butter knifes on heat(the ends of the butter knife, not the handle on the heat)
2)Let it burn red hot
3) Ball your weed up...
4) Squeeze the 2 knifes with the weed in together
5) Have a broken bottle or something ready and put it above the 2 knifes and inhale all the smoke that comes off.

It tastes really good, easy to do, and gets you baked.

Sounds fun, but way too much trouble. I don't want to burn my hands off trying to lift the knifes or anything... I'll get a lighter when the gas stations open at 5. No biggie.

I don't have any papers. I'm "the bowls" biggest fan. I kinda needed a flame. I ended up making a couple of firecrackers.
