advice from those living at home with parents plz.....

So im 19 and on summer break from college, at first it was a toss up to get an apartment for 3 months or to move back in with the rents. Well i chose to move back in and to my surprise my mom who used to by anal and strict about everything pretty much gives me my space and freedom.

My dad on the other hand is a complete fucking dick. This is what I dont get, he has smoked weed for over 35 years now (daily smoker 5-6 times) and is the grumpiest man I know. We have our disputes, mostly about me not contributing around the house and making a mess.

Early last week I planned on doing some painting for a neighbor. I unexpectedly got really sick and couldnt do it. On sunday, still being sick, i decided to go out with friends. Before I was leaving my dad threw a fucking fit, saying that I wasnt allowed to go out. I kinda laughed and said that Im not a kid anymore, im able to make my own decisions and he replied with if you go out you better paint tomorrow. The next day to satisfy my dad I painted about half of what I was supposed to. That same day I rolled a J and was about to smoke it until I hear my dad walk in the door. Panicking I grabbed my sack, grinder, papers, and brushed all the weed off the table. I forgot the joint and it was sitting in plain view on the counter. My dad saw it and make some stupid ass comment and threw it in the garbage disposal and clicked it on.

Ok this is my question.

Why in the fuck would someone who smokes so much weed throw away a perfectly good joint when he even knows that Im aware he smokes. I am really confused on his logic and it just doesnt make any sense at all.

oh and ps, its not because he is trying to be a good dad because he is probably the furthest from that as possible.
