The War Is Lost!!!!!!!

The war on drugs that is. The results of Nixon's ill advised political ploy are as follows.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25478235

“The United States, which has been driving much of the world’s drug research and drug policy agenda, stands out with higher levels of use of alcohol, cocaine, and cannabis, despite punitive illegal drug policies, as well as (in many U.S. states), a higher minimum legal alcohol drinking age than many comparable developed countries,” they added.
“The Netherlands, with a less criminally punitive approach to cannabis use than the U.S., has experienced lower levels of use, particularly among younger adults.”

Not news to most, but it should be e-mailed to everyone at the DEA, your congressperson, the idiot in the White House, and anyone else who could stop the prosecution of seemingly normal folks who party.

The true underlying intentions of the War on Drugs - propping up of terrorist organizations in order to bolster "national security" efforts and the sundering of ecologically friendly industries - have been an unequivocal success

I concur on that point, but as with so many subtexts, it takes a little pointing out the obvious for many who can't or won't understand the manipulation factor.

But this study is conducted by the WHO, so it is a little more damaging in it's inferences. its like saying the country with the most Doctors has the shittiest healthcare system...oh wait, damn, we don't look so good there either!

Of course the only response to this finding (that the US leads the world in substance abuse) will be even more draconian measures against marijuana users

..our fearless leaders are incapable of ever reaching the conclusion that they've pursued the wrong policy

So, the US government is conspiring to destroy environmental industries under the guise of the 'war on drugs'? That's a tad paranoid, even for a pothead.

We are capitalists; why destroy an industry if there's money to be made in it?

"They've" succeeded in their plot? You had better double check that and go ask Al Gore, he's personally banked a cool $100 million off of global warming (sic).

The recent trend in environmentally-conscious consumer spending habits has been embraced by the business world. Water bottles are thinner, milk cartons are more efficient and there is reckless profiteering deriving from the half-truths and whole lies fed to us by the bias, drive-by media.

How's that for a conspiracy
