More than likely. I mean, most of the nutrients (besides base protein and fat) inside of the placenta are in liquid form.

I'm sure she got a hefty shot of B-12 in one of them as well, because she hasn't slept soundly in four days.

Yeah. Animals eat the placenta and afterbirth for strength through the process or giving birth. Watch out for the kittens though-- did you know they have baby teeth and loose 'em just like we do!? I was freaked out with my kitten's teeth started falling out!!!

I've experienced that once. It was so wonderful, I want to experience it again. I let the kitty bite of the umbilicle chord and everything though. i just helped rub the kittens down and helped a little with other things. Omg, it was so great though. I didn't let those kitties leave my site for a good few days.

Grr, I'm jealous now. Hehe.

Well, the kittens are just about five days short of being a month old, so I figured I would revive this thread with some... *drum roll*... updated shots! Their eyes have opened completely, and they're really starting to come into their own personality-wise. We've decided to give the twins away and keep the three odd balls, which we've (lovingly) named: Dino, Inky, and Vitaly. Dino and Inky were my girlfriend's idea, and Vitaly seems to be the kitten I'll be claiming as my own, though he doesn't really like me all that much. Well, C'est La Vi.

I didn't watch the video, but those pictures are striking. As someone who finds life and the reproduction of it incredibly amazing, every time I see a young dog, cat, human, rabbit, whatever, I have to take a moment and think how amazing it is that we're all here. I used to not like cats, but lately I've been converted.

Heh, that's Vitaly. He's fairly active, but I really can't convince him to play with anyone as often as I'd like him to, so we just let him be as independent as he can be, for the most part.

I've read that all kittens have blue eyes for the first two months, and then slowly develop their own unique eye color over that period of time, but you can definitely tell that a few of them are going to have blue eyes for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, that's what we're thinking will happen. They're just coming into their own right now, so sooner or later they'll grow attachements to the people around them.

And I'll probably take some more pictures for everyone tomorrow, once the sun is back out.
