This very weird thing is happening to me.

Well lately this weird thing has been happening to me. There is this one song that I've been listening to. Now when i first heard this song i was not high at all. And its a great song i find it amazing. but everytime i listen to it, high or not, i get this weird unsettled feeling. Its not like a sad feeling but kind of upsetting. its not bad enough to really upset me for a long time but when im listening to this song i just feel like upset. the feeling is amplified when im high but like i said i dont think that has anything to do with it because i first heard it sober. I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten this feeling. Also i have no mental connections to this song, like nothing bad happened to me while listening to it. So what do you think GC. This is probably a bit out there, but it's definitely possible that the chord progression or melody is designed to provoke a particular emotion. There's a reason that a major progression sounds happy and a minor melody sad. Hell, the Catholic Church banned one particular interval for centuries based on the way it supposedly affected people.

I'm a Jaco fan, but I must admit that I'm not familiar with the song you've mentioned. I'll try to check it out tomorrow, though. I'm interested to see what's up now.

Its probably the harmonics on his guitar, feels unsettling and random.

There might be 7ths, suspended, or plain minor chords as well that can give it a darker tone.

Yeah. You're prolly right with the 7ths and minors. i just found it really weird becasue i have heard other songs with many minor chords, but this is the first time a song has effected me in such a way.

adagio for strings doesnt have lyrics and i always get depressed listening to it, still pretty awesome though
