im not condoning it, infact im against nukes completely as a weapon, but Japan did surrender pretty promptly after. It brought a quick and clumsy solution to a problem; America all over..

I just think there were many other reasonable alternatives.... like attacking their military bases instead of just killing innocent civilians. They only killed 57 of our civilians and didn't attack any cities.... basically they were just trying to take out our Pacific Fleet. In return we killed over 200,000 of their civilians and literally destroyed two major cities. Not a justified reaction in my opinion.

A lot of historians agree that Japan had already lost the war by June of 1945. They had lost nearly their whole navy, their air force was demolished, factories were virtually 100% destroyed or unable to operate, all raw materials were gone and the US had air superiority over Japan raining bombs and fire bombs at will.

Intentionally targeting hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians is not simply a "consequence of war". They made an attack on our military and we responded the wrong way by making a direct nuclear attack on their civilians. It's the same reason 9/11 was considered unjustified and such a cowardly low blow... because the attack was on innocent people who have nothing to do with the military or foreign policy.

Exactly... they attacked Pearl Harbor because they were desperate and it was easy. Little did they know we had just developed the most powerful and destructive weapon in the history of human civilization, and had every intention of using it in an unjustified manner.

Well there really is nothing to do about it now except piss and moan. It is true there were many unnecessary deaths but I believe those are the consequences America was ready to face to begin the ending of the war.

What I think is sad is how little is taught in our schools about Hiroshima. We all have the holocaust on the back of our minds, thank god, but we also need this. A nuclear war is a definite possibility, and if people aren't educated on the consequences, it could easily happen. It seems like America is trying to pretend like it never really happened. It's pathetic in my eyes.

Also if I ever got to the position of that person Blutteufel posted a pic of...I would not want to live. I would have someone kill me or find a way to die....it's just not worth living like that

I really wish people would stop throwing around "Japs" like it's nothing. If you're really a "tradskin" you would know that skins started out anti-racist. You wouldn't be throwing insults around like that because you wouldn't want skins to get a bad name.

atomic weapons are incredible..the other day i was thinkin to myself that if a bomb was dropped that the whole duck and cover thing was really just brain washing it was just to make us feel safe? everything would be destroyed....i hope to god nobody drops another bomb....and todays bombs are also way more powerful....it makes me want tio move away from every major city in the country....shits really scary

Yes I agree... America wasnt in WWII until japan bombed pearl harbor. So its their fault for fuckin with us. Im not saying I particularly agree with it, but they did bring it on themselves.
