ron paul is a creationist :O

this has made me see him in a new light tbh, how ignorant to truth can you get :P

discuss

edit: and yes i realise that evolution is in itself a theory, however, so is gravity, it makes sense and has clear evidence.. whereas this evidence is lacking with creation theory

yeah I'd much rather have a neo-con like Clinton or Romney in office.

not someone who has the best interests of our nation's people in heart.

not someone who is for you being the freest you possibly can.

not someone who wants to end the oppression acted on marijuana smokers.

not someone who is a true patriot and American.

rofl i just realised i had posted in the fuck ron paul thread, i thought this was the pro ron paul thread..

im actually quite for having ron paul having seen him do speeches. if he can deliver what he promises its a no brainer..

however i do have a few concerns, such as his anti-abortion and pro creation beliefs, i hope he doesnt allow his religion to cloud his judgement in more important matters.. anti-abortion, to me, seems completely against his pro choice ideals too

Well, quite honestly, and realistically he doesn't. It isn't something the smoking community wants to hear, but the sooner its dealt with the sooner we can get on to a "viable" candidate that supports other issues that are more important than marijuana legalization. The problems with marijuana are far too complex for any single individual to tackle no matter how appealing his platform may be.

Instead of our community hedging all its hopes on a person like Ron Paul, we could take that energy and apply it to cleaning up our own act. Maybe we have a lot more control over this issue than we think?

Just a thought...

....so how many GCers are going to register as a republican so they can vote in the primaries? If you really care about RP, you would do this because just the chance of him getting NOMINATED, let alone elected, are slim to none.

Even if Ron Paul miraculously got elected, he will never be able to enact all of his promises. For one, this is a democracy, not an autocracy. Paul just can't simply pull out of the UN and cancel the IRS. All of his campaign sweet-talk will be worth nothing because of the simple system of checks & balances.

Couldn't you use this argument to paint every candidate as politically impotent?

Yeah, you're right... but he is starting a revolution. The United States government is anti-revolutionary, it takes time. It will take getting real Republicans to run on libertarian principles to take over the House and Senate, then when a real Republican gets into Office he will have the power to make some real change. You're not voting for Ron Paul, you're voting for the future.

Eventually, our generation will be the majority (if the baby boomers made change, the children of the baby boomers will rock the world,) and the elites will evolve to get our votes. We need to make sure that we're knowledgable voters and stop buying into big government bullshit.

With $19 million in the bank i think he does have a chance, And i am not supporting him solely cause of his view on drugs, The main issue i am concerned about is the war in Iraq, He's the candidate that will do his best to bring the troops home ASAP, Nothing else matters till all our service men are out of harms way.

Money isn't enough in a "change" election as you're seeing pretty clearly on the Republican side on the contest, and Ron Paul isn't the only candidate in this race that wants the troops out of Iraq now. What I have a hard time understanding is why so many people with liberal views are even looking at the Republican party for any meaningful change, I just gotta scratch my head on that one.

Ron Paul doesn't believe in the theory of Evolution. If someone is stupid enough to not believe a WELL-backed theory, there's no way they could run a country, not to mention America.

Fuck that, I'm totally fine with purchasing my marijuana illegally. I've been doing it for years now and haven't ever had a problem.

But that isn't the only reason why I'm not going to vote for him, I'm pro-choice and he's pro-life, and various things.

Not "every canditate" makes such outlandish promises on the campaign trail. There are always lies, but there is no logical way that RP can achieve even a 1/3rd of his claims. Like AK said,

That's what most people just do not seem to understand, look back at the long history of the presidency how many modern presidents acted on their claims after they were elected into office?????
