Here in Finland there is no drinking age, but a purchase age... 18 to buy anything 22% abv or less, 20 for stronger stuff. This does not apply to bars and clubs, which can set their own age limits, most commonly 18, 20, 22 and 24. Drinking is a big part of the culture here, and it is amazing to me how viligant they are against drunk driving when compared to the US. If a Finn has to drive, he will not drink ANYTHING, not even hours before. Also it is 100% fine to walk the streets completely smashed, in the city center on Friday and Saturday nights it is like a zombie movie... except with drunken Finns instead of undead! I am going to have trouble adjusting when I have to return to the US in 3 months, as I am 20... haha
