I think its funny in the states how you can be married at 18 but not have a celebratory glass of wine at your reception? Or what about the soilder that is dying but not legally of age to buy smokea (in Ontario, Canada it is 19 to purchase cigs and booze)

I was going to go on vacation to California but there is no purpose aside from going to buy bongs (well, and see the sights and everything, et cetera) but if I cannot go to a bar with friends, or have a drink with dinner? (I am 19, legal in Canada) I will wait 2 more years til I am old enough to have fun there.

Exactly right! Not all but a few underagers act the fool and thats all it takes to label all you all to immature to lower the drinking age. You want it lowered then act more mature.

Here in Finland there is no drinking age, but a purchase age... 18 to buy anything 22% abv or less, 20 for stronger stuff. This does not apply to bars and clubs, which can set their own age limits, most commonly 18, 20, 22 and 24. Drinking is a big part of the culture here, and it is amazing to me how viligant they are against drunk driving when compared to the US. If a Finn has to drive, he will not drink ANYTHING, not even hours before. Also it is 100% fine to walk the streets completely smashed, in the city center on Friday and Saturday nights it is like a zombie movie... except with drunken Finns instead of undead! I am going to have trouble adjusting when I have to return to the US in 3 months, as I am 20... haha
