WOT!!! We can't talk about guns on the forum? Who's the liberal quack coming up with these rules? I can see not being able to discuss or condone racism, it is against the law (sort of.) But not being able to talk about guns is a bit much. It was after all the 2nd thing our founding fathers realized they forgort in the Constitution. You guys are telling me we can posess, own, and use firearms under federal regulation yet we can't talk about them on a discussion forum? A forum that's discussion content is 90% about the illicit reacreational use of drugs... just trying to point out the funnies. Mods, talk to me.

Why not? We can disuss motorcycles, giant spiders, politics, or anything else we want on the board... it doesn't make the admins motorcyclin' tarantula lovin' politicians. Guns are legal in The Netherlands anyway, so like the Cow says, "Moot."

Well, the necessity of firearm protection in relation to the drug dealing indusry is a completely differnt issue... the simple fact of that matter is, you can sell drugs without a gun. You can own a gun and not kill people. Jumping to the conclusion that any gun discussion on the forum is going to lead to the discussion of commiting heinous gun crimes is preposterous. I am sorry that you have bowed down so quietly to this censorship but it is not something I particularly care for on one of my favorite forums on the internet.

No one's calling you a bitch... but you're sitting here defending censorship. Yes, what SJ says does go. But the "Becasue he can" argument holds little water in my book. A King could be a tyrannical leader doing only what's best for himself or he could take into account the wishes and desires of all his Kingdom/forum and make a compromise and let them do as they please. Maybe SJ is against guns on a personal level, but obviously there are members (just like you KSR) that do like guns and would possibly like to discuss them. BTW, I have no desire to talk about guns in the slightest, I don't even own one... but censorship is bad, m'kay.

It's not censorship if you're in a private forum. You are welcome to say whatever you like on the internet, but those sites also have the right to not host it. SJ has made it clear that he doesn't like discussion of guns on the forums and it's his house. Would you call it censorship when your parents don't let you swear in their house? Not exactly the same thing, I know, but it's close. The rule about gun discussion is in the rules that everyone had to agree to when they joined. It's not new and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Quote:

Yeah, but waiting till now to react has gotten a much better response... of course, the only lame one I could expect. Like I said, I don't even care if there is no gun talk but if there is maybe a little discretetion could be applied. I mean, I don't know if AimedforDeath(?) was talking about doing drive-byes... but at any rate, that's a long way off from discussing hunting rifles. Anyway, you guys win.

Actually, the laws pertaining to guns in the Netherlands are a bit different. SJ knows what he can allow in the forums and what he can't. His business is more important than the forums that he has given to us and he can't risk his business by allowing certain things in the forum. It's not just a matter of his personal opinion as has been suggested. Perpetual Burn, you have killed The Biggest Thread Ever.
