Years Expired Vicodin Still Good?

Long story short, I was going through our medicine stockpile looking for nyquill or whatnot to fix a head cold, and I came across about three partially full bottles of vicodin and vicodin es, probably fifteen pills in all. According to the bottle, they're at least a year or two past the use by date. My question, will they still be effective, or at least partially? I plan to try one out to see, but what is some expert advice? Thanks.

No, it doesn't work.

I don't suggest consuming anything after the expiration, most products have them for a specific reason.

Expiration dates tend to indicate that the medicine has lost about 10% of its potency, not that it has become poisonous. It's mostly to make you keep buying new pills. You probably won't notice any difference.

I'll post some links to websites that explain why medications have the expiration dates- rather than giving an opinion like "You should be ok".

Read- get more information from some sources of your own and make a decision based on how you feel about taking expired medication. Don't let a bunch of stoners influence your decision haha.

Have you ever heard of people getting sick from taking expired tylenol or aspirins? My guess is that it doesn't happen. Likely one dosage of old tylenol isn't enough to make you sick, anyway.

If these pills were becoming poisonous in time, don't you think the FDA would regulate them more closely?

If you're gonna try it, be careful. Opiates will fuck you up if you don't use them rationally.

My suggestion is cut one in half, grind it up and rail it. You'll feel real good. You can try another half if you wish depending on the strength, but don't use them the next day.

Every once in a while is alright, but I would try not to use them the next day after using. You could get addicted.

Wow, thanks all for the input. It covers basically the entire spectrum of suggestions, but its good to have more resources. I'll figure something out.

Don't ever snort vicodin. It's mostly tylenol.
