yep, by shogun and wandi, both utilizing knees and the muay thai clinch which killed rampage. wandi was quoted saying it was inhuman how many knees he took before going down..
but chuck doesn't really do that, and he doesn't really fight any differently since last time... i'm with randy couture on this one.

I agree with Randy too. IF 'page can push the fight and chase chuck agressivly he has a chance to get to clinch and slam Chuck down and GnP. BUT i think hes gonna be too afraid to chase him down agressivly and hell probily try to work his way in by punching and shooting in, and Chuck will step back at an angle and tag him. Kinda like Liddell/Couture 2, Randy steps in, Chuck side steps and lands a punch.

Drunk as fuck, just started watching it. Liddel has this in the bag for sure, im guessing a 1st or 2nd round knock out. Mark my words.
EDIT: Fuck that leben won that fight, oh well thats the judges shitty decision for you! EDIT2: Oh man jardine just got rolled, good fight all around.

Round by Round COVERAGE! Carmelo Marrero vs. Wilson Gouveia Round 1 Very little action early as both fighters posture and stalk each other. Gouveia opens up with a few low kicks that find their target. Marrero shoots in sloppily, and is caught in a guillotine choke. Uhh oh. Gouveia rolls him over and finishes the technique from the top position. Wilson Gouveia wins by submission at 3:06 of the first frame. Winner: Wilson Gouveia via Submission (Guillotine Choke) Jeremy Stephens vs. Din Thomas Round 1 Thomas scores with a double leg takedown in the opening minute. Thomas passes to side-control twice before taking Stephens' back. Din fought unsuccessfully for a rear naked choke for the next several minutes, until his opponent reversed the position and landed some heavy strikes within Thomas' guard. Good pace to this opening round. 10-9 Din Thomas. It's good to see Din back on PPV. Round 2 Thomas comes out jabbing, looking good on the feet. Stevens sprawls to avoid a takedown attempt but Thomas pulls guard. Thomas locks up a nicely transitioned armbar. Stevens slams Din to break the hold but Thomas holds on. "Big" John McCarthy steps in and stops the fight at the 2:44 mark. Jeremy protests that he did not tap, but his face was showing the signs of the deep, painful hold. After the fight, Thomas calls out Floyd Mayweather Jr. and "Kermit" Cintron. WOWWWWWW... Winner: Din Thomas via Submission (Arm bar) Sean Salmon vs. Alan Belcher Round 1 Salmon tries to scoop up Belcher, but is caught in a guillotine choke QUICKLY. While trying to escape, he falls right into Belcher's guard where he is forced to tap quickly at :53 seconds of the very first round. I told you MF'ers that Belcher was gonna straight up TOOL Salmon!! Didn't I? Winner: Alan Belcher via Submission (Guillotine Choke) Salmon, you're just not UFC material bud. Sorry... This is crazy. I wonder who will win "Submission Of The Night?" We already have 3 candidates... Thiago Silva vs. James Irvin Silva & Irvin make their respective entrances. Round 1 Both fighters come out throwing kicks and haymakers. After a brief clinch, Silva tries to throw Irvin, but the Californian's knee buckles inward while trying to defend the throw. The fight is over. Referee Herb Dean stops the fight at the 1:06 mark after Irvin's right knee has blown completely out. Nasty sight in the Octagon. Wow, that looks BAD... Winner: Thiago Silva via Referee Stoppage (Irvin Blows Out Knee!!!!!!!) thats it for the prelims next chris leben vs kalib!!! Kalib Starnes vs. Chris Leben Leben and Starnes make their respective entrances. Good, at least Leben isn't rockin' that pathetic mohawk. I'm sure his toenails are painted still though... Round 1 Leben comes out aggressive. Starnes clinches with Leben and pushes him to the cage. Leben gets off the fence and opens up with left straights and a few knees. Leben is winging his left with both hands down. Leben slips while throwing a high kick but Starnes can't take advantage. Starnes lands a crisp low kick. Leben continues to swing wildly. Round 2 wow kalib made chris eat 3-5 big power punches and had chris stunned, but mid way into the round he got tired and now breathing heavy. chris got a couple of solid hits but overall kalib is still dominating the fight. Round 3 Chris comes out swinging, then surprises kalib with a brutal body kick that sent him to the floor, but then he held chris in the guard and they exchanged some soft punches, kalib was just trying to regain some composure. the fight concluded with hard brutal punches from both of them. Winner: Kalib Starnes Via Decision Keith Jardine vs. Houston Alexander next Keith Jardine vs. Houston Alexander Round 1 Wow just wow... The most brutal knockout loss ever. And the winner - Houston Alexander. Early on, Jardine rocked Alexander with one shot - but that was it. Alexander proceeded to pummel the holy shit out of Jardine. To his credit, Jardine wouldn't go down for nearly anything - but eventually one of too many BOMB-like shots did the trick. Complete and brutal knockout. Houston Alexander Via KO Ivan Salaverry vs. Terry Martin next Karo Parisyan vs. Josh Burkman Round 1 Great first round. These two are swinging INCREDIBLY hard. Parisyan is seemingly getting the better on the feet. Parisyan gets an awesome judo-throw also in the round. Burkman had his moments, but I'd go 10-9 Parisyan thus far. Round 2 Another Parisyan round. This is a great fight. Whole round on the feet with Parisyan having more moments than Burkman. Not one-sided, but seems like a Parisyan fight. Then again, I was dead wrong on Leben-Starnes. Round 3 Another Parisyan round, not as exciting as the first two but still a good round. Near the end, Burkman was completely gassed, but Parisyan was tired enough not to be able to capitalize. This should be 30-27 across the board, with only one round being arguable for Burkman. Karo Via Decision
!!!!!CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT NEXT!!!!!
|
