Mango Habanero Hot Wings

Yes this shit was so good I felt it qualified to share with you all.

3 pounds of chicken wings
2 cups Jumex Mango Nectar
Genuine RED Habanero Hot Sauce - TO TASTE (whatever brand you like, I like "El Yucatan")
1 Tbsp Karo light corn syrup
1/4 cup Cayenne Hotwing sauce (frank's red hot, red devil, w/e)
1/3 cup melted butter

Sauce: Put the mango nectar in a large pan and add the amount of habanero sauce you want. mix it up. should be a nice bright orange. put it on medium heat and let it simmer, stir intermittently and reduce to about 1/4 cup volume. Add cayenne sauce and melted butter. Mix. There's your sauce.

Chicken: You can deep fry your wings if you like but that's horrible for you and just grilling them over charcoal makes them nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and waaaay healthier. Slap em on the grill and make golden brown on each side. Should take about 10-12 minutes on each side on a hot grill.

Toss the wings in the sauce and you're done. Sweet and tangy at first taste and then a few seconds later the habanero rapes your throat and nasal passages (depending on how hot you like it, I likes mine hott).

a fellow bleu cheese fan! I'll take the ranch they offer cause it's free sauce but bleu cheese always goes down first lol. I got the idea for the recipie from a wing restaurant but my shit came out better anyway. the onyl reason I'll still go there is for the friends and the cheap cold beer.

And you're right, the hotter the better. My girl's father has a habenero extract.

Now, I like to think of myself a person who can handle heat. I've even eaten raw habenero's before. They're hot, but I love it. But, this sauce was an additive. Not a sauce. It even came with a waiver, so if you sued because it of injury it wouldn't fly. 100x habenero sauce. It could literally kill.

The recommended size was fuckin' TINY! And it needed to be so. Like, pin-head size. Well, I take about the size of jelly-bean. BIG! mistake. I spend the next 2 hours running my mouth over water. Drinking milk, eating bread, anything to reduce the burn. I mean, this shit BURNED! There was no flavor, only heat. Man...I'll never do that again.

I was sweating, tongue was swollen, just in-edible to any human.

pure capsaicin extract? capsaicin is the oil in all peppers that cause the burning of mucus membranes and watering of the eyes. I personally think they even have mood altering effects in good amounts. I ate some "Blazin" wings from my favorite wing place which are made with 5 different peppers including LOTS of habanero. After wards even though my mouth was on fire I felt so at peace. Then I burned a doober in the paking lot and felt EUPHORIC.

I have to agree. Nah, probably wasn't pure extract. But, close. Hot enough to kill and costs A LOT.

I love eating spicy then smokin' a fatty.

Oh god, my mouth started watering before I even clicked this thread. I love mangos and spicy food. I'm definately going to make some of this next time I barbecue.
One suggestion though(sorry ) is to clarify the butter before you mix it into the sauce. Mmm, I need some wings.
Great recipe, +rep.
