Attention Texas Smokers!! VERY Important!! Please Read

We've been watching as seemingly every other state has herb-friendly legislation come up, and now it's our turn. Stoner army, ACTIVATE!!! (sorry, voltron)

There are currently 2 marijuana-related bills on the docket for this 2007 legislative session.

The first one, House Bill 1534, is designed to give a viable defense to patients using cannabis medicinally when their drug charges are presented in a court of law. Passing this bill is the first step to unfettered medicinal marijuana use in our state, traditionally one of the staunchest anti-marijuana states. I think that's a pretty exciting development.

The second bill, House Bill 158, is for everyone else. This bill will reclassify possession of less than one ounce of marijuana from a class B misdemeanor to a class C. If enacted, this bill would remove the threat of incarceration for minor marijuana offenders. This type of change would ensure that these individuals will no longer be subject to criminal arrest, prosecution, and incarceration for minor offenses, not to mention the stress, emotional, and financial hardships that follow a POM arrest.

Contact your representatives, PLEASE. freedom from arrest would be AWESOME, especially considering the subburbs many of us live in. Do your part, let's get these bills passed!

Have you calculated the answer?" "Yes, the answer to life, the universe, and everything is... 42. "

Finally! I feared Texas would be long in waiting for any reform. I know I'll do my duty.
