1. Nitrous oxide (n2o) is a must have in every home. It\'s legal to buy and possess and it\'s hella cheap. It\'s also highly addictive psychologically because it\'s so fucking fun. (They don\'t call it hippy crack for nothing.) You can buy it from a headshop, porn store or online (creamright, ebay, etc). Ask for \'whipped cream chargers.\' You don\'t need a cracker. You can get a regular whipped cream dispenser.

Dangers:
The gas itself is relatively harmless. Most problems arise from carelessness. With that being said, let me mention what might cause harm. DO NOT inhale directly out of the tank or canister.
The gas coming out of the canister is pressurized and VERY cold. The pressure can collapse your lungs and the intensely cold gas can cause frost bite to your hands, lips, mouth, vocal cords (!!!), throat and lungs. Not cool.

This is easy to avoid. You have to put the gas in a balloon so it\'ll warm up first. This takes only a few seconds and should _always_ be done. Remember, never inhale directly from the cracker or n2o tank.

You might pass out. N2O displaces oxygen in the blood, which means you might pass out if you use a lot in a short period of time.

You won\'t pass out unless you continously take hits with no oxygen in between. However, you should ALWAYS be sitting down when taking hits, so just in case you do pass out, you won\'t fall, breaking your face on the edge of a table or the sink.

DEATH..
Most deaths from N2O occurred from suffocation. What usually happens is somebody is taking hits from a big bag, and they pass out with the bag landing over their head. They get no oxygen and suffocate. Other deaths were the result of using a gas mask. Same mechanism as above.

Solution? Always use a balloon and don\'t do it standing up. Prepare for passing out, even though if you\'re careful that won\'t happen. Also, if you do pass out, you\'ll regain consciousness in a minute or two, so don\'t panic. Just make sure you don\'t pass out and hit your head.

N2O does not kill brain cells, but lack of oxygen for long periods does. Solution? Take air in between each hit.

Here\'s a summary:
Always put the n2o in a balloon so that it\'s not pressurized and there is no chance of frost bite.

Don\'t do it standing up because you might pass out and hit your head.

Take air in between each hit to avoid passing out.

Warning: Don\'t use auto-grade nitrous oxide (the ones they sell for cars).
Also, NITRIC OXIDE is toxic. You want food-grade NITROUS OXIDE.

2. Wow....someone showing some support for Nitrous. I do it once in a very while....if in my refrig. we happen to have some whipped cream I\'ll take a little hit and smile and walk away. Thanks for the info...can\'t wait to see responses

3. IMO it\'s underrated and it is definitely fun to have around while tripping or high. It can be pointless while sober simply because it\'s so short lasting, but when you\'re high it feels like a full body orgasm that lasts forever.

Also I hope this will help people who are currently under probation or for whatever reason can\'t use anything illegal. :D

4. wow, I never even thought of using nitrous. Next time I get some bud Ill try it. Thanks for the info. Also can you get it at a hobby store or wal-mart?

5. Haha thats me :) Probation... ugh. So hey, how do you do nitrous? Once it\'s in the baloon do you inhale it and hold it for a certain amount of time or what?

6. Airduster.
If used correctly can trip you out quick for thirty seconds up to about five minutes.
If you have done it, you know its fun.
If you have questions, you can PM me.
If you have never done it and want to, PM me, I\'ll tell you how to be safe in its partaking.
Like the nitrous, it can kill you if you use it incorrectly.

7. You can buy cans of whipped cream and inhale right out of the can but the buzz isn\'t strong and it\'s not cost effective. The thing about using n2o canisters is that you\'re inhaling just pure n2o and they are hella cheap. $50 cents each.

Most porn shops and head shops sell them. A pack of 24 for $12 usually. Some supermarkets do as well, but I\'m not sure about Walmart. Warning: Don\'t use auto-grade nitrous oxide (the ones for cars). Also, NITRIC OXIDE is toxic. You want food-grade NITROUS OXIDE.

N2O can\'t kill you unless you fall over and hit your head or pass out with a bag over your head, or with a gas mask on.

Well the basic idea is to exhale, inhale SOME air (or none) and then inhale a lungful of nitrous. Hold it in for about 10-20 seconds, exhale and take another hit if you want.

You can\'t inhale from the canister. You have to use a \'cracker\' or dispenser to get the n2o out of the canister and into a balloon. The gas comes out very cold (enough to cause frost bite on contact) and with enormous pressure, which can collapse your lungs.

To solve both these problems you release the n2o into a balloon, and inhale from the balloon. Another thing you can do is just use a standard cream dispenser. The pic above shows a cracker, which you can find on ebay or at some head shops.

A dispenser is safer. You put the canister in the dispenser and twist it on. The n2o gets released and then you wait a few seconds for the gas to cool down before putting your mouth directly to the dispenser and pressing the handle while inhaling. This is a dispenser. You put the canister in the long cylindrical silver part and you inhale from the white part. Both n2o chargers + dispensers available at creamright.com

8. That doesn\'t sound fun.... lol

9. Inhale, you should resize that picture...

EDIT - you already did

10. + rep, n20 is the shit indeed, my 1st experience was at the dentist when i was in 6th grade, man i thought i was gonna die because i didnt know what was happenening, when the operation was done i stood up and fell over haha funny shit.

11. Dont wanna put any airheads down or anything but I would rather sniff coke which im totally againts than do some shit like this, this goes in my crack, heroin and meth jar. But for some reason ectasy keeps sneaking out gotcha now the only thing left to do is put you back gulp couldnt help myself.:D

12. aka--\'hippy crack\' Kills so many brain cells..

13. Don\'t huff freon, its dangerous and uncool.

14. They stopped using freon in the early 90\'s

15. According to the air duster at Target, the propellant is difluoroethene and I was under the impressoin that that is a type of freon. Either way, its not good to huff.

16. Stop spreading lies. Why would dentists use it if it killed brain cells?

Nitrous oxide has been safely used as a mild anesthetic for over 150 years. Problems with its use come primarily from carelessness. Potential problems include :

• [*]Brain injury and suffocation can result from lack of oxygen. When used as an anesthetic, nitrous is always administered in combination with oxygen. Never use nitrous in any manner that does not provide for adequate oxygen intake.

Note that it is not necessary to feel shortness of breath or a sense of oxygen deprivation in order for the body to be dangerously short of oxygen. The sensation of being unable to breathe comes as a result of unusually high levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) rather than low levels of oxygen. Because of this, people who inhale pure nitrous oxide or other gases do not have the sensation of being unable to breathe, despite not getting enough (or any) oxygen. It is quite possible to suffocate while breathing pure nitrous oxide without ever feeling discomfort or a shortness of breath.
• Never strap a gas mask to your face while using pure nitrous as it is possible to black out and die from lack of oxygen.
• Never use a garbage bag as a delivery device. It is possible (and has happened) to black out and suffocate when the bag falls over the nose and mouth.
• Never open a tank of nitrous in a sealed room, closet, car, or other space.

[*]Very cold temperatures of the gas can freeze the lips and throat if taken directly from a tank or whippit. Releasing the gas into a balloon first allows the gas to warm before being administered.
[*]High levels of pressure may rupture blood vessels in the lungs and force air into the chest cavity, causing the lungs to collapse. This is primarily a problem when nitrous is being administered directly from a tank or other pressurized container. Again, releasing the gas into a balloon first eliminates this risk.
[*]Heavy and frequent nitrous use can deplete vitamin B12
in the body and lead to serious and unpleasant neurological problems. Users may experience numbness and tingling in the fingers, toes, lips, etc. In more severe cases, numbness of all extremeties. Taking B12 supplements, especially in combination with multi vitamin and complete amino acid supplements, may help alleviate this problem. If you experience these symptoms, cease nitrous use immediately and if the symptoms persist, seek medical attention. See Nitrous & B-Vitamin Dangers.
[*]Careless use of nitrous oxide can also cause nausea, vomiting, and disorientation, primarily from inhaling too much, too soon.
[*]Since nitrous produces a temporary loss of motor control and dissociation, it\'s extremely unwise to inhale it while standing or while in any situation where unconsciousness is dangerous.
[*]Some users of nitrous report headaches and generalized discomfort for an hour or more after inhalation.
[*]Nitric Oxide, a toxic industrial gas, is occasionally mistaken for Nitrous Oxide. Users should be careful they know what they are inhaling. Inhaling Nitric Oxide can permanently damage the lungs or kill.

[*]Olney\'s Lesions: there is little to no evidence that Nitrous Oxide use causes the brain lesions described in William White\'s \"This is your Brain on Dissociatives\" and, without further evidence, this hypothesis should be considered invalid for Nitrous Oxide.
