Who else bases their life off of Karma?

Who else in the city always thinks before doing something "Will this affect my Karma?"

It seams like 99% of the shit I do I think before hand, will this be bad karma? hehe. I don't know but I believe SO strongly in karma, well I'm a good kid anyways who doesn't do stupid shit and is always nice to everyone But I always think before I act about my karma.

I was playing paintball the other day at an Indoor paintball place. I by mistake jacked a 20oz CO2 can, took it back the next day because I felt a little bad about it, that shit is like 40$ for one of them.

I'm always thinking of it, and wanted to know if other City members believe strongly in karma.

I base nothing I do on karma. Im probably the only person in the world who finds karma immoral. The idea of karma is do good things and good things will happen to you. I think its wrong to have to have a reward for doing good things. You should do them regardless of whether or not you will be paid back. The modern day idea of karma isnt the original idea of karma which was set forward in religous texts. Id like to point out that every person to achieve tha state of buddha transcended beyond recieving rewards for their good actions. Id also like to point out that jesus was never repaid for his sacrifice. Most of the people in the world history who were truly great were great based on the unpaid sacrifice they made ie ghandi, mother teresa, the buddhas, jesus, etc.

I tell people that things are 'bad' karma that they're doing and whatever, but I really don't follow it. I have my own diferent set of believes. Though, I do like the idea of karma and everything.

i don't base my life off of karma, i base it off of my moral standards.

for example yesterday, i had just gotten to the skatepark and was taking a sticker off of the candle i was going to use to wax with.

and i was holding it in my hand, and the thought crossed my mind to just drop it, but i couldn't. i knew that i'd just be another littering scum bag and would only be contributing to the litter that is covering our neighborhoods.

so i put it in my pocket.

though small, it's decisions like these that i believe have an effect on karma.

to dig further philosophically, if your doing things because you feel it will give you good karma, is that selfish enough in itself to defeat the good karma you would have gotten?

I treat others the way i would like to be treated, but i don't believe in Karma. While I do many spontaneous acts of good i don't really expect to be rewarded for them. I think expecting a reward like that just leads to disappointment.

A religious doctrine that I would subscribe to, however I find myself unable to let people push me around with the hopes that karma will fuck them over in a few days.

From Wikipedia: "The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to others. "

I certainly believe in that, but not in the term of karma that many of you are using. The whole "do good and good will come back your way" mentality seems to appear when people feel they don't have it good, and use it to make them feel better about themselves and gives them hope to better their position in life. I have no problem with this, since it does make the world a better place.

That is probably the single most absurd statement I have ever read in my life. If you want something you take it... you really think thats a reasonable way to live your life? If we were all heathens you would have been butt raped and murdered a long time ago, just because someone wanted what you had. This may sound harsh but if you really mean what you say I can only hope that you get a moment of clarity just before you die so you can understand the moral implications of the way you live. I promise it would be the worst experience of your life.
