cousin charged with sex with a minor

im really worried about my lil cousin.. hes 16 years old and his gf is 15 about to be 16 in a month.. and her mother caught them sneaking out one night. a day later my cousin gets a phone call from a so called officer saying,"you've been charged with sleeping with a minor". I donno but it seems kinda fishy? do you think the police would just call his CELL PhONE and tell him he's charged with something or show up at ur house? i donno but i think its a prank put on by the girls parents.

Hahah definently a prank. A officer would go to his house and be like your charged with this. First off they have to let you know they have a badge and there certified policemen they don't call and say "I saw you attack someone come to the station please". Its surely a prank. If a cop doesn't have a badge you have every right to resist arrest so you won't get kidnapped. Also if 2 underage kids got charged with having underage sex thats fucked up..... why would they sell condoms to 13 year olds?? I can only ponder.

like my girlfriends dad did the same thing. he got a restraining order on me so i cant call his house looking for his daughter and then he goes and starts calling me. so i recorded the conversations we had on the phone when he called.

of course that had nothing to do with minor sex and prankass cell phone calls.

they would have come for him and talked to his mom. thats some gay shit they are pulling.

Well two minors is legal. It is when there is a adult 18 and a minor it is illegal. Let me find the rule of a case were this happened and it was deemed legal.

Well in Florida teen sex is legal, but a lawyer can use this to help argue a case in other states.

They'd be at his house to arrest him, not call him. Unless, the parents just called in a complaint and the officer just wanted to follow up and here his side of the story because they cant really arrest him.


Different situation, but same type of circumstances. My father is going through a divorce. Stepmother did the restraining order thing. The cops met him at his work because they couldnt find where we live, they had the wrong address. They met him at work and served him family court papers.

A week later a cop calls, to talk to him. My stepmother filed a complaint saying he was calling the house from a store, which violates the protective order. She based this off the fact that there was a call from a dandy market on her caller id. No actual phone conversation, so the cop just called to check and follow up on the complaint. If they had cause to arrest him, they would have been to the house, not called. There was nothing they could do.

Sounds to me like the girls family had someone call saying they work a cop to keep their daughter from having sex. If the cops were involved and going to arrest him, they would have.
I'd say he should stay away from her until she turns 16, no need to get a statutory rape charge when he can just wait a month and be with her legally. Better safe than sorry. Save himself some possible grief.

Wouldn't soliciting a minor be like paying her for sex? And also, unless they have proof that they've had sex other than a vague suspicion (based on them sneaking out?) I doubt they can do anything. And they wouldn't go to his cell phone.

Dude... 2 minors having sex is legal (though not condoned). You can't get arrested for fuckin a minor if you are, yourself, a minor. And if your bro was being charged with anything, he'd get a letter from the courts stating the charges, and when his pre-lim is and all that fun shit. Depending on the state you live in, this is flat out wrong and dangerous to believe.

Age of consent (AOC) varies from state to state. As well, some states define it as when a minor can have sex with an adult, others define it as when minors can have sex with anyone.

I would advise anybody to find out what the law is in your state before thinking they can engage in sex with a minor because they themselves are minors.
