Well i just came back fromt he dentist for a root canal, uaslly he gives me lorcets, percocets or lortabs, but this time he gave me darvocet... wich i no nothing about. I no allot about pain killers with hydro codone and oxy codone in them but im completely clueless about darvocet.. how does it compare with something like lortabs?i no it differs down to what strength but i want a genral idea, if enyone could help it would be cool.

Dextropropoxyphene, like codeine, is a "weak" opioid. Codeine is more commonly used, however some individuals (approximately 10-20% of the Caucasian population) are unable to metabolize it, due to poor functioning of the enzyme CYP2D6. It is in these people that dextropropoxyphene is particularly useful, as its metabolism does not require CYP2D6.

yea i just looked up alot of stuff, being that thare weak opioid then i prolly wont feel shit having a HIGH tollerence for codeine, dam thanx anyway tho.
