Crappy stoner stereotypes

I'm so tired of lame stoner stereotypes. While it may fit for some individuals, it isn't across the board, but I suppose that's what makes it a stereotype. So I'm a stoner, but I'm not lazy. I work out, live a busy life abundant with enriching activities, and still hit the pipe. I'm also not your stereotypical greasy, unclean, grungy stoner. I shower everyday, I do my hair, keep everything upkept, I take pride in my appearance and how it reflects on other people. I didn't turn to pot because I'm some loser with no life ahead of me, I have a good future, I hit the weed because it's fun.

I'm interested in all aspects of life, I'm just alittle tired of getting that "look" when someone finds out you smoke pot. Not like I'm hitting up with dirty needles behind dumpsters. So who here is alittle tired of the typical stereotype that you don't fit in? What makes you stand outside of the stoner box?

I just like to act, the way I want. Not worrying about how I'm percieved by others is the best way to live. It makes everything easier....That being said, I smoke everyday, take showers every day, LOVE music, LOVE television(addicted really), am fairly inactive, yet love nature, am very unorganized, and am always bored. I also love the water; lakes, rivers, oceans, hell even puddles()

EDIT: I am with DCrist721, LOL I haven;t shaved in about 4 months! Though I do use a beard trimmer after a while, I hate how I look clean shaven, it seems too unnatural

Well, actually I do fit in the stereotype. Unfortunately, I've been lazy and unmotivated my entire life, before I started smoking weed and I hate when people blame it on the weed and make it look bad. However, I do always dress nice and certainly do not sacrifice hygeine, although I must admit I often get too lazy to shave, but it's also because I like the look.

Edit: I would just like to take this time to agree wth everything the poster above me has said. Even the bit about the puddles.

I don't fit the stoner stereotype either, but I say fuck labels. As long as I stay true to myself I'm great. People should just like you for who you are.

Wow you sound just like me.
I enjoy being inactive also, but that's often a problem in my current setting.
I figure I should just try to stay as active as I can till i get my degree and money situation set.
After that I want to settle down, have a small family, and move onto a lake in northern Michigan.

I guess you can say i'm a simple, determined stoner, with an occasional lack of energy.
I just look forward to smoking, playing guitar, and living a simple family life as I get old.

Remember the world is what you make it.
Just because the world says faster is better doesn't make it true.
I personally am sick of the industrialized way of life where I reside.
I think my laziness is just compensation for this unnaturally fast world I live in.

Smoke on and don't let these general stereotypes get the best of you!

i have a tattoo on my ankle that is of a heart with a blue ribbon around it with the word "bubba" written on it.

people always ask why i would do that.
i ask them what does it make you think of me.
they usually say, well it can mean a lot of things like that im gay (which im not) or that i have been to jail and was the bitch or something (also false).
then i come back and say yeah it can mean those things but you dont know for sure and so how are you going to base your opinion off of something on my body. or to subject your thinking of me on just a few things that you cant really prove.
then i go on to say that is stereotyping and they kinda seem a little sorry for thinking whatever they were thinking but i dont care, because then the tattoo also serves as a way that tells the person looking at it that i dont give a shit what you think about me.

so i kind of turn that to smoking weed. yes i get really pissed off when people assume things based on what they are told, or what they see and make false judgements especially about pot. but again, i dont give a shit about what other people think about me when it comes to smoking the stuff because if they will judge me based on what they are supposed to think about it and not really know my reasons for smoking then thats ignorance and doesnt deserve to know my reasons.

hah, i pretty much fit the stereotype too. long hair, beard... i think i come in somewhere between "hippie" and "grunge holdout." i write and record lots of music (my apartment has four guitars, three amplifiers, a bass, a mandolin, two keyboards [three in a few days] and an organ), i'm an english major (is there a more stoned major in college?), etc etc etc.
the cool thing is that i fit the stereotype well before i started smoking—even while i was straightedge.

Well i fit the stereotype half. I'm a really lazy guy and hate sports, but my appareance is important to me. I always wear nice and clean clothes, style my (short) hair, go to the solarium, shower everyday etc.

I feel ya man. I've been an under-achiever since 3rd grade. Hard when people blame something that has nothing to do with the problem.
