The next big thing on the internet?? Competition

I need community imput here people, contest time, serious stuff.

if you've got 250.000 USD start capital, and you would have to come up with a new idea for internet startup, what would it be, what would you build, what do you miss right now on the internet.

we have, youtube, google, facebook, flickr, myspace (and grasscity ;-) ) , what's the next big thing,

The best idea receives will be put in a contest poll and the winner will receive a free vaporizer worth 250 USD.

yeah im clueless too the internet has really everything you need from gamefly to that new company which lets you play games online(forgot the name). If I really focus on it for the next few days sumthing might pop up.

Maybe a for movies... where you find your movie, and you can dl it for a fee...

Or a site aimed at the music industry? A place where people could come to find a band for a gig, or a band to find a gig, as well as giving like opportunities for ratings and getting their music out there.....


Dunno. those are just a few things that came off the top of my head.

Edit: Or maybe a Site where people could come on and create an account and make their own radio station, or radio talk show... and they could be put into catigories... people could get on an listen to a talk show, or radio station relevent to what they're into....

If I could figure out a way to bypass the movie theatre all together, I would take all the new movies coming out and put them on a site similar to Itunes.
a small fee gets the movie downloaded to your computer where, if you have a DVD burner you can copy it, or save it to computer if neccesary. Prices at movie theatres are just so rediculous (sp?) right now, plus honestly this time of year who wants to go? screaming kids rude people, and shitty traffic. I would just as soon d/l it.

This is illegal, and very tricky to accomplish.

The Torrent network allows you to do music movies games all for free...sure its illegal, but how many people pay for itunes rather than download for free? I know I still use P2P for my music.


This is a hard question.... but mmh? I can't think of anything I can't do online that I would need to. Maybe something will pop up later..

eehhhm, let me think 1%........ no it;s just a compettition, would be nice if I've got 250K in my pocket, which I haven't, but I love the internet, but i won't give a free vaporizer for a stupid idea , that's for sure ;-)

I have one, in my opinion it would RULE since it has to do with music...now just don't say no right away...I'll give some examples -

** your sitting in the car listeaning to the radio and you Love this song and your singing along with it but you don't know what the songs called!!! and the radio doesn't say it the name or artist!! so you memorize the main lyrics or some quotes from the song and you run home and try to google it! but to no avail google just brings up Ebay links and other uselesss crap..**

Now my idea is something like google but instead it could be called listeaner.com or something and you would type in a line from the song into the search bar and there would be links to different artists whom have those lyrics in there songs and you can just keep narrowing it down...now I know myself many many time have found myself in that situation and it pisses me off! And many of my friends have had the same problems doing it as well and with this it would bring in millions of costumers I fell since recording companys would be throwing stuff at you so that you refer them as a link on the website...dunno just and idea I have

I think everything on the internet has been done. Maybe in 5 or 10 years from now there will be a need for a certain product/service on the internet, but right now it's all been done.
