Now my idea is something like google but instead it could be called listeaner.com or something and you would type in a line from the song into the search bar and there would be links to different artists whom have those lyrics in there songs and you can just keep narrowing it down...now I know myself many many time have found myself in that situation and it pisses me off! And many of my friends have had the same problems doing it as well and with this it would bring in millions of costumers I fell since recording companys would be throwing stuff at you so that you refer them as a link on the website...dunno just and idea I have
I'm not sure if there is something similar in the US, but in the UK there is a phone number you can ring which lets you play a short part of a song into your phone (from a radio etc) it will then text message you with the name of the song and the artist; for a small fee ofcourse.

There is also a website which lets you tap the beat of a song using your 'space bar', it will then analyse this beat and produce a list of songs in its database with similar songs.
http://www.songtapper.com/ if you're interested.

As for an idea of my own; I've no idea. Forms of media i.e. films/music/TV all seem to be the big thing at the moment, but I cannot think of anything which hasn't already been done.

alternative classified ads

How about a classified ad system intergrated with GC, in which transactions are based on paypal (or something similar). The idea is that people can sell products and services not commonly available on other classified ad systems. Possible products and services could include:

Glassblowing/repairs
Selling of clean glass, etc.
Selling of general tobacciana, etc.

*The system will be monitored/moderated, and anything related to or alluding to illegal activity (dealing, etc.) will be immediately removed and the members involved will be permanently banned.

The service will provide free browsing. However, to buy/sell you must fully register, which will also be free. Registering will prevent deals from going bad, people getting stiffed, etc.

Sellers of products and services will pay a small commission from the earnings from the sale. The transfer of money from paypal accounts will be done by the system, which will automatically take the commission. The buyer and seller will negotiate the terms and logistics of the actual sale themselves.

It could be in a format similar to the GC forum. Forum members could possibly "upgrade" their accounts to be able to participate in transactions. Buy/sell stats such as reliability, ease of trade, etc. could be tracked and kept publicly available on the member's profile.

It would be moderately easy to create/maintain, and it would cost much less to implement than $250k.

Pretty simple consept I have.

Are you a person who likes to see the album art for your songs and or movies?
download them at (whatever website) and enjoy

there are also the lists of song titles that go with the album.
(a-z, search by related songs, ect...songs come /w lyrics)
there are many sites the most likely follow this same concept, but I'd use 90% of the money for a graphics artist to make the site look user friendly and just write the rest of the website myself!

a small fee gets the movie downloaded to your computer where, if you have a DVD burner you can copy it, or save it to computer if neccesary. Prices at movie theatres are just so rediculous (sp?) right now, plus honestly this time of year who wants to go? screaming kids rude people, and shitty traffic. I would just as soon d/l it.
that my friend is a very bad ass idea. i mean why is it that you have wait for the movie to come out in the theatres and then wait about 4 months after to get it on video. why not have a website. or how about for apple's iTunes, they could get the files necessary to send a movie to your PC and then you can have the freedom to watch the movie when you want on your own home theatre system and you wont even have to wait for the movie to start at the theatre and you dont worry about being late. and you dont pay the high fees of the movie theatre itself and you dont have to sit behind the only 7 foot tall guy within 5 miles.

itunes has already gotten the rights to the music when they come out. and you download the song before the whole cd comes out. why not the movies. and plus the companies would be able to make more money faster on the first weekend. charge like 5 or 6 bucks.

then they would push out better cd burners with blu ray mini disks. and they would have to be made with anti pricay things. like as soon as you burn it once to the cd then you can never burn it again. and then the file on the disk would have a thing on it so you cant rip it again. thus more software writers get jobs and shit and it would push the electronics industry with better sound systems. i just bought myself one last night for 200. very nice.

i have an idea also. maybe for just a good tv idea. or could be a tv show you could watch online orsomething. but have it be a reality show that you see all day and night and you would have to have it on the net cuz there would have to be multi channels. and you would see the behind scenes stuff. all day. it would essentially be 24-7. and they wouldnt have to censor it would be on the internet and anything goes on the internet so its all good. then they would have updates on the crap that happened that day. and there would be people monitoring the surveilance cameras and making sure that certain people are in the shots and all and getting the best stuff and even if they had to censor it they could have it be like a day later than what it really is. then they could have the elimination rounds and shit and get rid of people and what not and plus then you could see how fucking stupid those real world mtv bitches really are. and how boring they really are. id like to see a survivor like that, that would be boring as hell. but people would watch the shit,

and then i would like to see a survivor boot camp. cuz that shit is hard i have been there. and you could see exactly the shit we have to go through in the marines. and better yet. since i know that there is a lot of shit that drill instructors do that arent supposed to. i dont give a shit cuz that is apart of the training process. but then those mothers that want to see how their kid is doing they could have pod casts of their training sent to their emails and see how they are doing. i think that would be drama and a half. never a dull moment there.

and to this last guy. iTunes already does the album art thing.

I'm betting you were a hollywood marine. Go to my island and then talk about D.I. brutality.... I was there on admin duty when the recruit died from being held under the water by a swim qual instructor

yeah i went to SD and fuck i heard about that shit. one guy in my series was ITed so hard he had an anyerism and was paralyzed. and my 3rd hat had an epileptic seizure because he was yelling so loud at a recruit while on an S&M run.
i saw him like 3 weeks later tho and he was just pulling some desk work for the time being. and some dude "jumped" out of the third story stair well and landed on his head. another guy pulled off his boot while on the fire line and pulled the trigger with his toe. but that guy was like 2 weeks before i received. but i wouldnt give a shit about the abuse. like i said its all a part of being a marine. if you cant hack it then get the fuck off the boat.
