Use Firefox. It used to have a memory leak but now that 2.0 is out, it's been fixed. You can also use Opera. For all you Wii lovers, that browser is Opera bases. Avant is also another good browser. Pretty much avoid Explorer and the next worse is probably Safari.
Also, avast! is a nice, free virus software and it even installs a screen saver that is like the asteroids one but it runs a virus scan every time your comp goes into screen saving. Adaware is quite good, as well, but hardly necessary with firefox. Empty your recycle bin often (right click on it and click empty recycle bin). Defragment your hard drive. Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter. First select the hard drive you want to defragment (most of you probably only have 1) and analyze it. It'll analyze for a little while then it'll tell you if you need to defragment. If you do, which you probably will if you have never done this, click defragment. If this is your first time defragmenting or you haven't done it in quite some time, it'll take a while, so go do something else. This deletes all the fragmented files in your hard drive and organizes it so it can access things easier and faster. Look at it this way: You've got a whole bunch of different kinds of weed and your friends come over and they want to smoke your northern but you have all your weed in a big box along with various stems and stuff. It'll obviously take you a lot longer to find your northern but when you defragment, you take all those stems and throw them away and you put all the different kinds of weed in different bags in alphabetical order. Some the next time you want to smoke your AK, you'll know exactly where to find it. You can also access disk clean-up the same way except instead of clicking disk defragmenter, you click disk clean-up. If you're know what you're doing, you can go through your hard drive and delete specific files you know you don't need, but this is risky. You really need to know what you're doing.
