Transition To Salvia
I've been using weed for the past two years, and besides tobacco, alcohol, and a crazy run-in with Seroquel (mixed with weed), I really haven't had much experience with other drugs. So lately, I've had a strong interest in other psychedelic drugs esp. the legal ones. I found a good source online and I ordered 2 grams of Salvia Divinorum; one strawberry 10x extract and one Fly-Agaric Salvia extract 10x mix. I don't know what to think of the substance, sure I'd read many erowid reports yet I had never really achieved a 'mind-blowing' trip with intense visuals and the like. Finally, after a week of waiting, the package came in, and I sat down in my incense-filled room and set some tunes to play in the background. I block up the bottom of my bong bowl with two small weed buds (I lost my screens) and get a small amount of Salvia extract (Fly Agaric mix) into the remaining space of the bowl (well, not quite close to 'packed'). I take a deep hit and it burns almost too fine. My lungs really aren't the strongest when it comes to smoke, so I get up to get a drink of water. At first the effects are just a mild buzz as I move around. I underestimate it and loosen up, and when I get back into my room I add two more small cannabis parts to the bottom of the bowl and add a decent bit more Salvia extract, this time packing the bowl quite well (yet still not full). I take another strong hit, and then I knew I was in for it.
As soon as I breathed out from taking the hit the world seemed to 'ripple' casting off these very strange dream-like vibes. I took a shotgun and ended up in a coughing fit. I stand up casually, and then am hit by a 'huge wave of Salvia'. Before I know it I'm on my knees and in fairy land. The trip is not visual for me this time, although I am so screwed mentally that it doesn't even matter (what I can't see with my eyes I make up for with my thoughts). This could be because of my small dosage and my not being prepared for how fine the extract was (well, my lungs weren't prepared at least, so I did not take the best hits). Anyways, as I sit there on my knees alongside my bed, I finish up the last two shotguns and set the bong aside, not even bothering finishing up the leftover material. In my head I imagine myself to be in a world reminiscent to some 'Willy Wonka adventure'. Somehow I relate my bed to a 'cartoon train factory' and I imagine my wooden floor and the surrounding shelves to be part of some 'forest grove'. I look up at my computer and give in to the visual effects of my music program before losing interest. Yet there was quite a problem in my timing. You see, I had quite a bit of work left to do for the day, and although it was only 7 P.M. and the effects were generally shortlasting, I did not feel that way. I spend the next good 20 minutes panicking and running around my room and the kitchen with intense fright. I jump on to the bed and roll around, first the sheets are suffocating me, next my shirt is burning my back, then my pants too tight and uncomfortable. I don't know what is with me at the time but I feel a strong sense of despair and that the only way that I could escape 'Salvia's wrath' and be able to finish my work and continue with my life was if I was to take a short rest. I had underestimated the great Salvia and "he" was angry with me. I set my phone alarm for 8 PM and then lie in my bed with the lights off, along with a new selection of music (I turned Incubus off after I felt that Brandon Boyd was yelling at me. Now I listened to Enigma and The Mars Volta [as a suggestion off of these forums]). I eventually feel great and euphoric in a way and this continues for the next 2-3 hours until I get myself up and sober at 10 PM. I have a feeling that it lasted a lot longer because of the Fly Agaric, and would like to compare this to my other extract.
Since then I have done it one more time, although it wasn't really a good trip because of a bad environment and a very small dosage. Tomorrow morning I'm going to have a true experience with Salvia as I plan to use most of it with three close friends of mine. Overall I must say that Salvia is a very interesting and surprising herb, although I would highly recommend that you go into it carefree and relaxed. The taste isn't particular pleasant but that's nothing big.
