Anyone heard of a "Pool gravity bong"

I heard someone mention it the other day...using a metal trash can, a few hoses, and something about a person swiming up on the inside...??? What the hells? sounds massive, anyone out there ever attempted or heard of this craziness?

never heard of it before, but it sounds impossible. if you had something big enough that someone could swim under and take a hit, it would take a rediculous amount of of weed, and would be way too hard to pull out of the water. i am going to do some thinking, cause if i can make it work i am doing this.

they told me the guy swam up from under the water and pushed up on the trash can. he said it took a bout an 1/8th of the green...like 4 tubes...when the shit filled up the guy breathed it in...that was his hit, then other grabbed the tubes while the guy on the inside pulled down on the trash can....not too sure if dude was full of shit,,,but sounds fucking ROUGH!!

Good point about the chlorine, but I don't know about how toxic it could be. Obviously inhaling like a chunk of chlorine dust is terrible, but it's gotta be broken down to some degree once it's in the water. No one's drinking it, and you're not like popping air bubbles like you would with a conventional bong.

Besides, who hasn't accidentally gulped down a mouthful of pool water in their life. I know I probably have, and I'm doing alright. That being said, it seems like a lot of effort...but who cares, go for it.

if you did it in the shallow end of the pool, youd probably be ok getting under it and just standing.



rasta, would that have any effect? only a fraction of the smoke will touch the very surface of the water, i dont know if any chlorine would be picked up?

couldnt be any worse than breathing the air around the pool while swimming and comming up for air could it?

I'm not really sure but huffing enclose chlorine vapor cannot be good for your lungs.

Keep in mind my specialty is biology, not chemistry. I'm unsure of the similarities of the chlorine vapor from the surface of a pool compared to the extremely deadly chlorine gas.

I definitely would advise against it unless somebody is willing to do significant investigation.

Well all i know is, I smoked out of some crazy shit b4... They say (who are they again?) Antler pipes are carconigenic, and so is smoking out of wood. Im not too sure how smoke that is sitting on top of water would would be harmfull....especially compared to smoking off the top of a tin can, or out of one hitter bats that drop lil pieces of metal..??..?? As for the chlorine vapors??? so is smoking in a hot tub, enclosed in a room bad for you as well??? This is just some crazy device a guy told me about, wanted to see if there are any other people who have heard of this being attempted....Thanks for the input everyone!!!!

I've smoked out of a pool before, haha. We used one of those huge like 10 gallon water jugs that dispense water into those little cups. We rigged up the cap from the cap that was on the bottle already, and cut the bottom of the jug off. It took like a 5-10 sac to fill it up, but like three of us were throwing down the weed so it wasn't too bad. But yea, we would pull it and swim up underneath it and take the biggest breath possible and exahle inside the jug, and just keep breathing the jug until we could take no more. One of us almost drowned cuz they passed out, haha. It got you soooooo high, and I never noticed any cholrine or any other chemicals in the taste of the smoke, and I'm still fine to this day so I'd go for it if you have the resources.

Same concept as the gas-mask bong.

Those things are terrible because your face gets really greasy and your eyes sting.

The local bongshop (it has closed down since) used to sell bongs with surgical masks, similar to the picture below, except with an elastic and a valve so you can exhale without soaking your bowl.

now THAT was nifty.



EDIT: keep in mind these concepts can be very dangerous. Passing out from lack of oxygen and even Co2 saturation is big risk. It can cause brain damage and can damage your blood vessels.

Use with extreme caution; you could perspectively die using that method if you don't take the proper precautions.

I dont think the smoke would get thick enough to get you high, by the time you inhaled enough smoke to get a decent hit the thc would be out...
