Legalize Marijuana: An Appeal to the Tobacco companies

Dear Big Tobacco and Associates,
As you may well know, Cannabis, commonly known as Marijuana, is an illegal substance in theUnited States. The reasons for this are vast and mostly inaccurate. There is a large support for the Legalization of Cannabis in the United States as well as a large number of users. As an American marijuana-using community, we would like to see the drug legalized for its own merits but we need support. That is where you come in. We would like you to support any and all motions in both State Legislatures and Congress that would make marijuana legal to own and cultivate. You already have the lobbyists in place and the financial capability to make this happen.
But why should you do this? Because it makes good financial sense. IF marijuana were to be legalized, who could easily make the largest profit? You. Tobacco companies already have the land available for marijuana cultivation, farmers trained in growing plants, facilities to roll plant matter into tubes, and a strong business base in every single town and city in America. If I'm not mistaken, certain tobacco companies even have names for marijuana trademarked. Think about it, if one of the lawsuits against tobacco finally hits home, you may need something to fall back on. The marijuana alone would be a profit, not to mention the profits in Hemp exploitation.
Let's face the facts. Anti-Smoking campaigns are prevalent. Many cities are banning public tobacco smoking, health warnings have been out since the 50's, and Tobacco can't even be advertised on television. Why is this relevant? Because Marijuana would not have those restrictions against it if it were to be legalized. In fact, Marijuana is being proven to be nature’s best natural medicine in curing anything from glaucoma to anxiety and preventing cancers and Alzheimer’s disease. Health advocates would not be able to attack this front because of the staggering amount of evidence that says marijuana isn't harmful. You could even include a "joint" in a pack of cigarettes with the (proven) claim that marijuana helps prevent lung cancer which cigarettes are allegedly known to cause. You could be the new health advocates of the 21st century!
I sincerely hope you take this letter to heart. Marijuana provides joys to many people, hurts no one, and could be a great source of profit for you.

Please proof and review this for me. If you agree, email it and mail it to every tobacco company, employee, and tobacco lawyer you can find. I know you may not want the devil on your side but if he is only a tool for good work, what could happen?

They just dont have the balls to fight for legalization.

I would grow my own personally or buy from private gorwers. But if we can show the tobacco companies that we would support them in this endevour maybe they would pay more attention.

There is more power and money to be made by criminalization. The police state loves it, drives up their budgets.

The pharmaceutical industry, the pulp and paper industry, the oil industry, the textile industry all LOATHE hemp; it's in their best interest to keep it criminal and to have harsh limitations on commercial crop growth.

EDIT: In Canada, the general consensus is that most people wouldn't mind a total decriminalization of marijuana; but the vast majority of these voters are moderates on the subject and won't really pursue it. It's the few cannabis activists like us who push the agenda forward.
