That's not marijuana causing a problem, that's society and it's propaganda at it's best, dividing up the people and quieting their voice of reason. As much as you may love them, fuck your parents their ill informed and it's possible they can't do you anymore good.. you should always love them, but there comes a point where you need to stop listening and start being you, not what they want you to be. My advice would be to save up money (get a job if needed) get enough for first and last months rent and a small cushion of cash to hold you over till you get adjusted to living alone, get back in touch with Andrew and look into getting a place big enough for 2 people and split the costs, don't fuck around to much and make sure you keep your prioities straight. Once you have a good start on a succesfull life that will bring you happiness, show your parents how wrong they were.

It'll take a while, but it's something me and a buddy are looking into because we have the same situation, not as extreme as yours, but our parents are always on us about our "illegal drug addictions"

That's bullshit. Shouldn't you be old enough where you parents shouldn't really have a choice in the matter? I dunno, guess it's the whole "my house, my rules" thing, but that's still re-fucking-cockulous.

Being sent to a psychiatrist for the pure fact of smoking weed [assuming your friends parents thought he was perfectly sane before they found out] is just so far out there that I really don't know what to say. Putting him on anti depressants, especially if he's not depressed, is just about as 'smart' *cough* too.

I was lucky, I grew up with two parents that smoke. In the end, even if they still don't really want me smoking, they'd rather have had me do it in the safety of our house than somewhere off in town (we live a few miles outside of town, no reason for any cops to be out here). They found out when I was 14-15...

FYI: We both dont have the option to move out of our parents household yet. I turned 18 on September 6th and he just turned 17 a little bit ago. Odd thing is, is that our parents don't mind if we drink, only smoke.

I wouldn't take it. He's 18 right? Nobody can force you to take medicine, and if he really isn't depressed then it's irresponsible on the doctor's part to prescribe it to him. Also, I think he really is probably depressed. Depression is a tricky thing, most people who have it don't know. It's not just about feeling sad all the time. I know that I have a mild form of depression, but I self medicate...

Well, I'm still sorta confused. What was the conversation like? What did they catch u with? Stuff like that. Idk, my parents tried to keep track of me, but I had a car and a job at 16, so it's not like they could really do much to me, other than kick me out of the house...and how do they stop you from calling each other...plus I'm sure you guys probably go to the same high school anyways. Some parents have some foolish notions that their children aren't able to make their own decisions, it's really silly, and authoritarian. And you wonder why kids are shooting up their schools......

Pop a pill behind your lip or under your tongue and swallow a glass of water, spit it out down the drain or in the toilet later. Smile, chat, and act nice.

Fucking hate your parents all you want, but when they control your life don't be stupid and tell them that. Make them see what they want to see, and hear what they want to hear, and live your life the way you want outside of their perif.

You got to understand, you have to live with these people, stop making shit hard on yourself and learn to deal. Arguing doesnt do shit, just make nice, and do what they say.

Now he's in the psych ward and he's done more damage to his rep with his parents than will be easy to repair. He's gonna have to start taking those pills while he's in there, acting nice, and hugging his parents and apologizing. A teary eyed session of "I dunno where my life was going I'm so sorry, thank you for saving me" wouldn't hurt.

Sorry if all this sounds harsh, but damn, teens get themselves into so much more trouble then they need to. You need to learn a valuable life skill, and thats to make people see what they want to see so they get of your back.

I understand, I was an obstanant, know it all, argumentative teen to, but get over yourself, and realize that what they see you as doesn't nessesarily have to be who you are.
