So you have determined that Time travels at the speed of light (thought the flow, substance and effect of time is still largely not known, even by theoretical physacists) because of the Doppler effect?
All that does it prove that the universe is expanding, or at very least, celestial objects are moving away from one another at a constant rate. Also; the Big Bang is commonly known to have occured slightly under 14 billion years ago. I have heard many different theories about time travel, related to theoretical physics, string theory, revised string theory, etc. And even moving at a fraction the speed of light, which is already theoretically achieveable by perspective interstellar vessels, would increase the flow of time at an incredible rate. I don't really understand your connection to the speed of light and time though. Time is not part of the electromagnetic spectrum... |

haha... i always get the scientist effect when im high
anyways, if the big bang theory is correct, what is considered the center of the universe? the big bang theory would make an ever-expanding sphere of light from the centerpoint. where is the centerpoint? |

I'm not entirley sure, but I think from out perspective it's impossible to tell. We're not able to determine what is exactly moving away from what. Though we can indeed determine astrological distance, there is no stationary object for us to determine and measure our movement to, or the movement of any other celestial objections.

I knew "billion" and "four" was in there. Thanx for the correction ![]() Yet more great reading! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_bang Quote:
Not trying to argue with anybody here! Just putting out the info that I know. Its good to have a discusion like this!

Hah, you definatley did your research.
Thanks for clearing it up for me, bro! I'm still on Hawking's "Breif History of Time", so I admittedly am pretty new to his writing. I'm also reading "Imagining the 10th Dimension", which is a pretty interesting perspective on string-theory. Check it out, I'd definatley recommend it, it's a good read. rep + btw. |

I was high once with a buddy at the lake and was looking up at the stars and started to think how our atmosphere keeps out Outer-Space. Because you would think that because there is space in between air particles that it would let Outer-Space come in. But then I figured that there must be some kind of force which resembled that of magnetism which seperates each particle from each other and keeps an Air tight seal around the earth especially when gravity is involved and is pushing all the partles together.
