What is skunk?

I will most likely be made fun of for asking this but meh. My gf is in England for the semester and she wants to get some weed but she was told that it's not grass over there it's skunk. The difference being added chemicals or some shit. She, like myself, is against smoking anything but the weed so this poses a prob. I thought skunk was just smelly weed. Hence my question, what exactly is skunk, and take into account she's in England. Thanks all.

almost all weed get in the uk we call 'standard' which i think is the equivelent to what you guys call 'mids'

in England we refer to almost all green as Skunk, always. alteast round here anyways.

i love that skunk smell, i got some crazy bud right now, white from crystals wtih hints of purple but it has teh skunk smell and it fucking reeks, i had a .5 baggie of it in it like tripple layered in paper and shit and im stinking up classrooms having kids on the other side of the room like it smells like theirs a skunk in here and kids who dont know what it is trying to figure the smell out(teachers too)

Same here mate, but when its rubbish stuff they tend to call it weed and charge £12.50 - £15 an 8th
Most of the stuff I get down here is the good old Skunk #1 sometimes crossed with something else (bigbud?) but mostly just straight #1
This is why I'm determined to grow for myself, I want a good high, instead of just a couch-stone
