ouji.....ouija? boards???

well me any my buddies got really sotned and played with one of these boards


we asked it how many spirits were in the room it said there were 8, and they were peaceful lol

then we asked how mayn cigarettes my friend had, and it was right?

anyone got any weird stories with these boards?

To prove anyone thinking that you one of the people touching the board knowing the answer effecting the way it moves: We asked it what time it was (no clocks in the room, hadn't left for a good 2 hours) and it was dead on.

Everything I have asked it was true. I even asked it where I could find some weed one time.

A ouija board can be VERY dangerous. It's kind of like a physical portkey that allows otherworldly sentient beings to communicate with people living in the physical. Simple answer: its a board that lets us communicate with spirits, be they good, evil, or whatever in between. you can really unleash some serious baddies with a board though, so always be sure of what you are doing and dont fear anything.

It's either that or the power of the all knowing subconscious mind, which (if you are clear headed enough, ie. just letting go and letting your hands "move themselves" in a way) well impose its all knowing power into the board and give you answers.

But for the skeptical, its just a piece of wood and the experiences people have with it are sheer luck and coincidence.

There is a simple psychological explanation for all of this. (From Wikipedia, cos it's early here....):

The ideomotor effect is a psychological phenomenon wherein a subject makes motions unconsciously, especially while attributing the motion to a paranormal or supernatural force in which he/she believes. Unexplained phenomena such as applied kinesiology, automatic writing, dowsing, facilitated communication, and Ouija boards can be attributed to the ideomotor effect. The effect is extremely powerful and many subjects cannot be convinced that their actions are originating solely in their own minds.

While I would agree that it is unwise to bugger about with things you don't understand, I believe this is less to do with actual physical danger and psychi phenomena, and far more to do with percieved danger, and the symptoms this and the associated panic may produce.

I've gathered quite a few Ouiji stories over the years.
I know of one incident where my friends computer started sending out jibberish messages. Within one of them was a word that you could pretty much tell was supposed to be Ouiji. It had come out like Oiuij or something. I'm sorry to say, but if you think that ouiji boards are anything less than a potentially dangerous key to the spirit world, think again.
