Man this kinda sucks

So I've gotten sick over the past couple days and I've been really stuffed up and whatnot. I've started to cough up some crap and it sucks. Well I'm home for the summer and my mom will probably make a stupid doctor appointment for me soon. If this happens and I go my mom will most likely find out that I've been smoking cigarettes for a while among other things. The doctor will probably be able to tell from a quick glance down my throat and will tell her right away....she'll basically kill me. This sucks.

oh really? Nice haha. I'll just go alone then. At college I have no worries because I don't care what the doctor would think....I just don't want her finding out. She smoked 2 packs of menthols a day for like 6 years way back when and basically told me to never ever smoke anything in my life.

did you stop smoking like you said you were going to while you were/still are sick?

if that's the case then your lungs are starting to get rid of all of the shit that cigarettes put in your lungs.

cigarette smoke keeps your lungs from cleaning themselves up, so when you stop it works harder to get rid of everything.

hence, you coughing up stuff.

yeah I've stopped cigs since yesterday morning...I may just lay off of them for a while, I'll see how long I can go. I'm still smoking weed, but I don't think that contributes to the sickness nearly as much as the cigs.

damn I'm fiending for a cig..ha..I'll probably try to keep it to two a day while I'm sick. If that's not too hard then two a day for the rest of the summer and then who knows.

I'm about to smoke a nice bowl and go get lucnh somewhere to get out of the house

It doesn't start that quickly.

Sounds to me like a chest infection; you will probably need antibiotics. Smoking cessation during the infection will help, of course, as will regular menthol crystal inhales.

Antibiotics and alcohol don't mix, though, so do be careful. This is not, as many think, because it 'trips you out', but because it nullifies the effect of the drug.

smoking every once and a while doesnt hurt bro, you wont get addicted if u smoke at parties or with friends or when ur stressed out. You only get addicted if u start to make it a an everyday thing (atleast thats my experience with cigs) but its still your choice, whatever floats ur boat

and Emohnke, sucks about being sick, but if ur mom does findout that you smoke, she cant get too mad, i mean she smoked 2 packs a day for six years lol, if she gets mad thats a little hypocrytical, i mean it always annoyed me when someone would be smokin a cig and be like "DONT DO THIS! THIS IS A FILTHY THING TO DO!" ...ok then what the fuck why are you doing it!? i do have respect for ya moms tho for quitting, props to her, that is alot less hypocrytical if she quits than if she still smokes now. good luck tho

I wouldnt be so sure that theyll tell even you that. I was coughing up blood for awhile and i thought it was related to my acid reflux so I had to go to the doctor and then the hospitol for chest xrays and the works. and throughout the entire process they didnt even ask me if I smoked and I smoke a pack a day (It was unrelated to that though, the acid reflux causes me to have an eroded throat which bleeds from time to time). So if they wouldnt even ask me about it, I dont know if theyll ask you about just being sick. Especially since coughing up blood is like textbook side effect of smoking a lot of ciggerettes.

I smoke anywheres from 1-10 in a week usually all on 1 or 2 days and im not addicted..I took a hit from a friends last saturday but other then that havent smoked one

if i have a pack then it'll last me 2-3 days, and i get them for free so i can waste my money on other meaningless stuff (like booze).
