    was the diesel engine originally meant to run off hemp?



    i need to find some documentation or

    credible sources on this one to back up on my paper.

    i did a project on desiel engines my senior year in HS i think they ran off vegatable oil originally i dont have a source though

    I'm no engineer, but I was under the impression Diesel engines could run off a random variety of fuels, including run-off from distilleries.

    I know during the Nazi-Occupation, many European countries converted their engines to run off of wood gas, as those greedy Germans hoarded fossil fuels for the war effort.
