Let me start by saying we have some extremely smart, educated, and determined people on GC. Why not put this to complete use? We can sit around and talk about smokin green all day but when it comes down to it, it is still illegal. Hell, ive become so blase with smoking that i forget its illegal sometimes. Why not put all of our heads together and start the GC Legalization Movement. There is only so much few people can do, and as alot of us just sit around and do nothing about it, it just gets worse. If everyone on this site did their part, i think we could band together and get alot farther than anybody thinks.


We can bitch about how unfair these laws are, but if we're not doing shit to try to change em' then we don't have the right to bitch.

well i had an idea that i posted earlier.

there are approx 30,000 members on gc.

if everyone was willing to donate just $10 we could raise about $300,000 for our campaign.

and yes, such a campaign is going to take a lot of money.

Again, we can talk about "stepping up" and "things need to get done" all day long. Page after page, thread after thread, but that doesn't get things accomplished.

Seriously, if you have seeds, germinate them and plant them. If you have alot, then you can possibly contribute much to this idea.

Spread this to all the forums you go on; This is a mission, to spread plants all over the country. Imagine in almost every major city, plants growing freely all over. One after another, they keep popping up.

I can almost competely imagine a news headline somewhere.

"Maryjane is coming to Town"

Lets get to work, start planting. But, this is just the first step to a much larger plan. However, if you can get people to plant a few seeds all around there area. Then maybe this is it, maybe this is our chance. We have the internet to our advantage, we can spread ideas in seconds.

Everyone smokes and everyone has seeds at some point. Plant them, time will tell, when plants start appearing in public areas lol

the government has very deep pockets. im not sure how much is spent on the war against marijuana but it's a lot that i am certain of . therefore it will take a lot of effort on our part to legalize it i mean a lot of grassroots support. I'd say it's entirely possible and almost inevitable in a way, look at alcohol, tobacco, etc. there are millions of people that are pro legalization but we are not united and the government wants to keep it that way .

all we have to do is call/write our senators, go door to door with the correct facts in a nicely presented format (which takes money), ask for research grants (money), etc etc...if even 5% (just a random number for a point it doesn't take all that much support just try your hardest and it's a real possibility) of the populus probably less was united on this front we would easily garner enough support to win our war. we are on the right side this I no and I see a very real future where we win the war, but I also see the possibility that we will never win this war, only time will tell...lol i was watching lord of the rings recently can you tell...point is anything is possible like somebody said you don't know until you try.

i know it's only a movie, but have you guys seen Shawshank Redemption. If so, think of Andy Dufrane (sp?). His campaign to improve the library was seen by the warden as an impossible feat, but andy didn't give up he wrote a letter a week to the senator and when the going got tough he got going; he wrote two letters a week, and you know what he exceeded his expectations. this is what life is like if you try hard enough you can do anything.....it's only up to you whether you want to win this war or not And let's not forget the ending of Shawshank (I don't want to spoil it for those of us who haven't seen it yet, go rent it NOW, it's really good..), what an inspirational movie I love that movie...

sorry to post twice, but i was thinking again about the original question. and i figured out the answer, i think. i don't want to sound like a smartass, but I think I know why in all seriousness why we haven't legalized marijuana to date. I think most smokers the majority of marijuana smokers are young. It's a known fact that young people are the least likely to vote. This is because we are inexperienced; we don't yet realize the importance of voting and political activism, etc etc there are a ton of reasons we are the group least politically active basically we have a lot going on at that point in our lives so we don't put much emphasis on politics plus we are rebellious and we don't have any real power at this point in our lives (the reason for our rebellion), well most of us.

But we are becoming more and more prepared and educated at an earlier age, that gives us an edge that gives us hope. Sorry to our older posters, but this is geared toward the new schoolers. Okay most of us here at gc are between the ages of 18 (or less a lot of the time) - 25 more or less. i haven't researched the demographics at all really just speculating, educated guessing. So we need to focus on getting young people involved with politics in general before we can win our war. I think that is the key to the future, I think because young people are unbiased (more so at least than older folk sorry for generalizing so much all) we are the key to freedom for all people in all aspects of life. WOW. What an idea, im not certain that I am right just a though that i'd never had before and it sounded good in my head, anybody want to add to/criticize this idea, feel free...

IF we blades are tired of the gov't persecution of our brothers then we need to make a

plan of action. To say that we need only 1 leader is rediculous. We all know

dictatorships don't last. We have to structure ourselves like a gov't in order to

compete on their level.

I don't think we should have any 1 particular leader. I've always been fascinated by

chivalrous knights like the legend of Kind Arthur. Since the U.S./Canada is such a

vast region we need to break up it all up into Sectors. Designate One person from

each Sector to be the Representative for his people or as I like to call them, Militia.

All the Reps from all the sectors are Responsible for Communicating to other Reps and

Organization of any "planned" events or operations.

Coordination and Organization is a KEY factor.

We Need a name. A name that brings hope to our brothers and Fear into the Gov't.

Also a Web site designer is a must. It needs to be professional. I want a person

to look at it and be awwwstruck. Facts, statistics the whole nine yards.

One more thing i forgot to mention. Looks. One of the most important factors in

publicity. All Reps should be somewhat pleasing to the eyes. No dreads, tats all over

in visible areas, well manicured type. When appealing to MainStream america they

will stereotype you the first 3 seconds they see you. We want to Break that

stereotype. Let people know that MJ enthusiests come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

We want them to know that the people who smoke MJ are not only college adults but

suits, dads, teachers, doctors, lawyers everyone.

I've have got TONS of ideas that have been brewing in my head since i first picked up

a joint. I'm tired of being a Hippocrit to my OWN cause. The time for action is now.

And as Ghandi and MLK Jr. we shall NOT raise ONE Finger to harm anyone in our

pursuit. We WILL prevail for we are the Righteous ones.


I would really like to see if anyone would be interested in our Movement.

I am 100% behind this idea. I am tired of being persecuted and judged for something most people don't know much about. They have grown up believeing what they were told as children and will continue to believe the lies untill they are taught otherwise. Just a few days ago while smoking a joint in a public park a woman walked by and said, "go smoke your drugs somewhere else...", things like that really irrate me. Just calling it a "drug" is something I don't agree with. It alters your perception yes, but as a person who has tried other drugs recreationally I see NO comparison between pot and any other drug.

We all know of the medicinal values but lets tell people about what pot/hemp can do for the economy. First we would save millions by ending the "War Against Marijuana", clothing,paper etc. can be made from hemp but alas most of the population doesn't know these things.

You can't fault people for not knowing the facts if they have never been told them...

We have the power to make a difference, the question is, how badly do you want it?

Does anybody know the process to Legally start my own Organization? Maybe a Non-

The First Mission will be on Sunday Night, August 6th.

Mission 1 "The truth shall set you free. . .":

Acquire poster boards. Two per individual will suffice. The name of Our Org. is at the

top. Below are the TRUE facts of Marijuana that the gov't doesn't want you to know.

i.e. George Washington grew MJ, T.Jefferson. . . . .the real reason MJ is illegal.

Please PM if you're interested. BTW-Please let me know the facts on your board

if you do decide to take action. Anyone who joins can consider themselves equal, but

at the same time we must have structure and uniformity.

The poster boards will be placed in front of all Local News broadcasting centers.
If we work with the Media our voices WILL be heard much louder. This is the reason why our Poster Boards should be in a Respectable manner. We don't need anymore enemies. We need Allies.

Yes! just what I was going to post. We need a trusty person to hold the money and someone dedicated to the cause. With enough money we will win. As someone said eliear we need grants, media coverage, some political voice and this will all take lots of money 300,000 is only a start, but not enough.

I'm going to do it with or without anyones help. I'm tired of Bitching about MJ being

illegal but then doing absolutely nothing. I really feel like this might be my calling, so

i'm gonna give a whirl. What's the worst that can happen? I've been doing nothing,

so doing something has got to be better.

I think planting seeds is a great idea. They may not go but it gets people out of the

house with a Purpose. The only thing I know of that 100% won't work is, nothing.

I'm going to start just throwing my extra seeds here and there around town. Some of them have to grow...nature will take care of the rest. Birds will eat them hopefully and spread the seeds around some more. Maybe I'll even put some in the bird feeders-hmm..
