I really think it's all a matter of our generation(s) meaning the basically anyone who was born in the 80s and even early 90s starts taking places in politics and can rise to more power. Even if some of us don't smoke, a lot more of us at least tried it or realise the reasons for the bullshit, and can work towards changing it. Problem is, almost the entire world is a bit ageist (yeah they actually use that as a term now) and our generation just isn't listened to, other than in voting for the presidency, I won't speak for how many people vote but yeah.. It's a matter of getting the right people in the right places. I don't know if that's having the senate meetings involving a bong being passed around, or a pot head president, but my bet is there will be something to that degree but not quite as exadgurated someday. Maybe it'll be someone from GC, who the hell knows.

OK Good idea:

We'll make safe's that are locked to the ground somehow. Then there'll be a marijuana informational handout on top of the safe and you have to read through it and answer the quiz correctly in order to open the safe.

Basicially just threaten there's a bunch of weed in there.

People would be educated!

Other than sitting down and waiting for people to finally wake up and say "Marijuana isn't bad" there are only two ways.

!. Somehow get mainstream media pro-pot
2. Pull a Fight Club and Setup a huge underground network and kidnap politicians for a few hours and threaten to cut their balls off if they don't become pro-pot.

Actually I just thought of a Third Way

3. Set up a Underground Network and have all our guys take as many politician seats as we can. Once we get enough people in office we can change the rulings to our likings.

The MJ community has no orginisation that is why nothing is happening. Blacks had Malcom X, Dr. King, and such. Who is the leader of the MJ community? If a leader emerges people will follow. No one has stood up yet.

^they were both arrested and spent time in jail, that's why.

the US doesn't seem to have a problem with taking political prisoners

"Get out of your chairs, go to your window, open it and stick your head out and yell 'Im as mad as hell and im not going to take it anymore'"

The only way for legalization or decriminalization to happen is for all us pot heads to realize that no one is going to do it but us. We have to get up out of our chairs and fucking do something. If people are truly serious than goddamnit stop talking about it and just do it. Sure we need organization and leadership, those leaders arent going to fall out of the sky, theyre going to be stoners who realize that there are enough of us to actually change things. If we had organization and good leadership, imagine what we could acomplish...

Exactly! For some reason the MJ community is scared shitless of the US Gov't. (Not that I blame them...)

Earlier someone brought up the great idea for MJ rally dress codes. Basically, to impress the lawmakers, we need to look like the Young Republicans. Basically remember your old debate days back in High School if you had the pleasure. The shaggy look, while cool in private homes and such don't really impress. We have to dress to impress, to use the old addage. It's a new age out there, and we need to match that new age!

Something needs to be done. We need to be able to match or beat the decriminalization that most of Europe, Canada, or East Asia enjoys. These are civilized countries that say pot isn't more of an offense than a speeding ticket and they haven't rioted and gone crazy (France aside, but that's a different story)...

There is no damn reason for the US government to throw people in jail for simple possesion with sentances that are equal to or far exceed MURDER FUCKING ONE! Here in Texas I've seen people get sentenced to LIFE for possession... (Granted they had a shitload of weed...) The sentence doesn't match the crime (or lack of a...) It doesn't even come close. The only damn reason that my family left San Francisco for Dallas fucking Texas is because of the three strikes law that Cali has towards MJ possession (or something to that extent, I'll have to speak to my parents to clarify that).

Something needs to be done. Someone needs to step up. When that person that stood up gets arrested or worse, we need to stick together! The first post brought up the Civil Rights movement as a parallel, well we need to gain some inspiration from that and refuse to back down no matter what happens. And if you're serious about the movement, you damn well better refuse to back down.
