no buds?

My friend has had two females outside for the past 6 months and there are no signs of any buds forming on them, he said he only uses mirical grow and no other ferts.How can he make them bud or has it been to short of time?

Hey -
MJ plants like most others flower or bud based on the day-light cycle. If these plants are 6 months old that would mean they have only seen the days getting longer and longer. (the shortest day of the year is December 21st in the northern hemisphere. So now that the longest day of the year is about to happen (June 21st) the plant will now start to grow bud as it feels the day getting shorter. (depending where you live and what strain of plant that you are growing you will probably start to see buds start to form around the last week in Aug or first week in Sept. Does this make sense to you??
