be careful. I've been doing it for a while with great success, but tonight just a few minutes ago I accidentally snapped a stem on one of my best looking females...
[p.s. if anyone knows how to help fix this.. look at my thread in the sick plants and problems forum and help me out]

oh and about the impact, it really does make a huge difference. I won't be doing it next grow because that's going to be a sea of green, but I think for any future grow I do other than a sea of green I will LST every time. oh and a good idea if you plan on lsting your plants outside and haven't transplanted them into the ground yet is to put them in their holes at a 45 degree angle when you do go to transplant them. will make it easier for you to tie them down since they'll already be leaning one direction

alright cool. thefuckinhero, that seems to be very a good idea (putting them in on an angle)....have u personally done it before with success? because heres my situation....maybe u can even help a litte. i have a few plants, about a week old and inch or two high, in 5 gallon buckets. i was going to keep them there and not put in ground because i started late (mid june) and i didnt think that the roots would fill up the bucket because if their immature size. but now im hearing and starting to beleive that just because they were started a little late, doesnt mean that they cant grow pretty big pretty quick and fill the buckets with the roots - becoming root bound and stopping growth. so first off, does that sound plausible...its now june and around here i think they start flowering in august(so it would be about 2 and 1/2 months grow before it began flowering) - so is it still enough time to get pretty good sized? and if so, shold i simply wait to tranplant into the ground before i LST, or should i do it in the bucket somehow and then transplant into the ground with it already LSTed? and it does seem to be a good idea to put it in on an angle, so that its bascically already starting to lean. i really apprecaiate the help
