What are some techniques to LST in the ground, Im contemplating ways to tie string from plant to ground so it can hold its bend.

cut wire pieces from clothes hangers and hook the ends to hok around the stem/branches and push the other piece in the ground. plenty of other things you could use too. easy enough.

i just use fish string and fishing weights (the best method out there)

Fishing line could cut into the stem, with possible adverse results. I use garden twine, made for the job.
