simple questions bout growing

alright.... i have grown in the past, i have never finished a grow due to animals and shitty weather. i am a newcomer to starting a plant out though before my plants were given to me by a close friend. so i just germinated 2 seeds about 2 weeks ago and planted them in some wicked shitty looking soil from my back yard. the soil is good nonetheless as other types of plants grow like 5 feet tall. The plants are already 4 inches tall. they have both sprouted the small circular leaves and the jagged leaves and are extremely green.... my only concerns are how i can strengthen the stems. i dont know what to expect either, so if i may i would like to inquire a few things-

how do i go about strengthening the stems?
how do i decide when its time to crop the plants so they will bush out?
1 plants jagged leaves are curling up a little, is this a sign the plant isnt doing well?
is it possible to grow with regular light bulbs for a little while? the weather sucks and these are outdoor plants.
how about fluorescents? i do plan to get a MH lamp in a month or so but im strapped for cash right now and need to continue to grow these. i would like to move them inside later on in the season for flowering so i can control moisture and other variables.

any help would greatly be apreciated. lataz

hmm nothing but time will thickin the stalks...but just keep em under close eye until like a foot tall if your doing it all outdoors, otherwise animals will eat em when thier about a foot they willtake off themselves i would suppose...if you wanna keep em short just train them to do so like put a fense on top other than that uhh harvest is like mid sep/late oct

if you want to strengthen the stems keep a fan on the plants if theyre inside but if theyre outside wind should do it naturally.
