I dug my holes for my plants this is the only place where i can plant. There 4 holes aobut 2.5 feet deep 1.5 feet wide the plants are 3-4 weeks into veg. Under the topsoil is sand not quite dirt or even clay more of a lighter brown fien grain lk sand. Im filling the soil wiht store bought soil from wal-mart ne recommendations (Cheapest)(Organic)?? And do u think my plants roots will be ok when the go into the sandy substance?Can i even grow here?

err. i would dig deeper...and mix good soil around with the sand, or just dig out the sand and fill with good soil..

they probably wont get alot of water in sand.

Make the hole the same size as a 5gallon pot... just to be safe.
Then fill it with your soil, you do not want much sand. Sand will aid drainage, but thats about it.
