soil?
im planting this summer and i have it all planed out and i was talking to my freind about it and he said if the roots of my plants go into ordinary soil it will turn into "ditch weed" we have tuns of it growing around. so i have a idea i was thinking about puting that plastic stuff that that lay underneath rocks when u lay them do u think that would work? and if so how far should i make the hole wit the plastic covering it.

i would just dig a hole 4'x4' and fill it with good soil. the plastic could cause problems such as root rot. i have grown in natural soil (mostly clay) and the plants had trouble getting large root systems, but were good and potent.
