Growing outdoors on a roof in Florida-I AM AN AMATURE.

Hey, I have never grown anything before(I mean anything). I do know how to germinate seeds with a plastic bag and a paper towel and thats basically it. But basically I'm here to ask advice about my situation, I want to grow about 3-4 small plants (im talking planting these bad boys in pots that are probably only 8-10 inches tall) and growing them on my roof. The seeds have also all been collected from some lower grade buds. I live in Florida on a bay which connects to the gulf, the spot on my roof is semi enclosed and i plan to shield the plants further (the spot is also not visible from the street or anything of that nature, of course). Any concerns tips or intense anger at my potential stupidity are all welcome.

Ive also herd that the sun could also possibly heat up the roots which could be bad-any knowledge on this would be helpful.

I'm also totally aware theres no way that this things gonna work 100% but I'm going in to it just trying to have a little fun and see what I can get out of it.

Thanks in advance my fellow grasscitians

yeah it could work... but like you said about the roots... they would get fairly warm and i dont think that'll be good... maybe if you put another pot around the one your using would be better but still no guarantee.. but give it a shot its possible

the major problem would be the Po-Lice finding them on your rooftop. Other than that it could work but your plants will need to be watered more often due to the high temperatures.

Growing on the roof tops in Fl is a BIG mistake. Its likly your county already does routine fly overs looking for crops and being on the roof it'll make them super easy to spot from the air. You need a place where your herb can blend in and be unseen from above. A few on the roof is a dead give away and you'll be busted before they start to flower.

Doesn't sound too good if you have choppers looking for weed. It's better to first have a reg. garden and have 1 or 2 mall Lst'd plants zigzaging in the tomatoes or other. This isn't a joke esp. in the US. But then, just read the stickies. A second pot is good. Or shade the pot with something. But again, because of 5-0 , careful man.

Police helicopters and like birds would be your only problem , i'd keep it out in the day for as long as it ll get sun and then put it in a safe area haha

im growing 1 small 1 foot plant in my bakyard and i get the chopper out looking at it probably but i dont think they d really care if its a few small plants
