watering idea...

so im going to do a guerilla grow, i was wondering if u used 2L coke bottles upside down with a nail hole in the lid or several holes, would that be enough water for a plant over a few days... it seems like it would last 3 or 4 days maybe even longer and i would also use the crystals that hold water and some good soil... think this would work?

Re: watering idea...

I'm not sure how effective the home-made "aqua-globe" would be.

Growing directly in the soil will give your plant's roots the opportunity to seek out the available water in the ground, reducing the need to water except during extended dry spells.

I grow in containers and my plants need approximately 1/2 gallon water daily.

But it sure couldn't hurt to try.

Re: watering idea...

Bro, it wont be good if you use organic fertilizer.
That solution will be perfect place for frogs after just one day, it will looks like a swamp.

With chem ferts it will be ok or pure water.

Re: watering idea...

watering twice a day? where do you live, the gates of hell? I am far north so I have the opposite problem as you, my shit hardly has time to dry out before it rains again.

I would imagine if you used large enough containers you could saturate them and that will last. After all, you want your soil to dry up quite a bit so you can get oxygen to your roots. If direct sun is your problem consider creating a sun screen of translucent film.

Re: watering idea...

if you are going to guerilla grow you don't want a bunch of plastic bottles hanging around it will attract attention.....utterly defeating the point of guerilla growing, the whole point is to be stealth and blend in to nature aka no planting in rows or what have you....and DEF no cut up coke bottles everywhere
