bad idea?

i understand almost nobody would do this and im prolly making a fool of myself for asking this but im willing to take the risk of rippers. when i start my grow (ofcourse not anytime soon since its too late, just planning it), i cant just dry the buds inside my house because of the smell (my dad prolly wont care as long as it doesnt smell) so i was thinking if anyone thinks this will work, i wanna make like a cardboard box to hang and dry my buds but i would be leaving this outside hidden somewhere away from my grow spot. basically a cardboard box with the buds hanging inside and the box fully sealed. besides the fact that rippers can easily steal this which im aware of, would leaving the box outside in a shady place damage my buds? i could even glue grass to the outside of the box to make it camo. will bugs infest it?

none lol i just thought of it im just more worried about humidity getting in the box and bugs getting to them rather than rippers. the problem is that theres no ventilation and maybe they would mold cuz humidity

Dont be so afraid but go with logic and go only with already approved ways.
Figure out, all my crop is in one lonely/forlorn house on periphery.
Founded in spring and tested on couple ways to till Sep.No signs of visits, no steps cross the grass .. nothing - its clear and safe...nobody need that house.

I dindt seen my harvest two days already, will go tomorrow if I find time.

i pretty much did that same thing last year. i had them drying in a box with one of those plastic tubs to keep it dry. only problem is around harvest time it gets kind of cold. you also want to have good air circulation. you cant leave it open at night, you would have to seal it some how. if it was sunny during the day with alittle wind that would be perfect to dry them but the weather is crazy hear. expecially lately. mine didnt come out to bad last year but they definatly would have been alot better if they were dryed properly indoor

if i am somehow able to dry indoors is there any way to completly hide the smell?

not that i know of really. i brought the top of my plant in my room last year to trim it one night and it made my whole house smell like bud. if you have a shed or a trailor or something that would work to dry them. its better to try to keep them off them the ground if your drying outside

so how exactly did you dry your bud? could you make a mini blueprint of it in paint so i dont fuck up by sealing the whole box. if i seal the whole box there will be no ventilation and i think that leads to humidity which leads to mold. if u could draw exactly what u used that would help.

what i used last year? i used a regular cardboard box. hung wires in it to hang the buds. then i got one of those rubbermain tubs that was bigger then the box. put the cardboard box inside of it. leave the lid of the rubbermaid open during the days ( when its nice) close it at night so no dew, water, or bugs could get inside. go back everymorning early open it again, and repeat. then put it into jars to cure them

and how many days did you do this until they go into jars? when can i open the jars and smoke them? oh and if i put it in the jars is it safe to bring inside or will it smell?

You normally dry for at least a week before it goes into jars. Dry enough to where the stems snap and not bend. When they go into jars they do not smell of course. But you do have to open them about every few hours to let the moisture out. Curing takes a while if you want potent, unharsh herb. So about a month.

and how long do i leave it open for? also when i open them to let moisture out will it smell up my house or room?

15-20 minutes and also don't forget to rotate the buds. You could take the jars outside and open them up so it doesn't smell up the house.
