whats up everyone!! well this was my first time growin, and i picked them already,i picked em yesterday and there already dryin, but how can u tell when there done to pick?when i picked em yesterday they had white hairs on them now they have red ones? can anyone tell me what it is?

The hairs on any flowering MJ plant start out white. You cut the buds for drying when 60-80% of the hairs (trichomes I belive they are called) turn reddish-brown. I assume, not sure on this, that after picking they turn darker as well.

naw naw naw... trichromes are the "crystals" and pistils are the hairs.

when you picked the buds, were all the hairs white or were some brown/red? or are they turning colors now after you picked them.

When those little chrystals get milky cloudy, its pick'n time. But you need a good lense to see this. Most strains its between 50 and 60 days.

Or as others said when the majority (over 50 percent) of the hairs turn color. If you pick too soon......like way too soon, all white hairs, your bud would not have reached its peak potency. If you pick too late it will actually have begun to decline in potency......now how knows if a few days leeway even can be noticed.......but in general i think when about half are changed and the buds look plump, i would pick it.........and yes as you dry it they will all turn brown.

2 ways i haverst my plant....

ethier im to layzy to be looking at the crystal, or i cant find my magniflyin glass i haverst by the hair color.....

i think u cut the plant too young since u said the hair were white.... i harvest a plant when hair is 75 percent brown...

now when i use a magniflyin glass, i let the crystal matsure untill 50% of crystal have turn amber..... meaning is time for harvesting...... but these tech depends on the type of high u like... if u looking for a happy high with not much of a body effect, u want to harvest when the thricons are bearly turning milky color.. if u want a up high with a lil body effect u want to harvest when thricons are 50 percent milky.... if u want a up high with body effect, u will want to harvest when the thricons are 50 percent amber.... these tech is mostly use for sativa strains.... indica is a stone high, and better to let the thricons turn 50%amber..........
