I once had an entire ant colony growing in one of my plants pots. Found it when I was transplanting...boy, that was a surprise!

Plant was about 2feet tall, and was doing just fine.

Don't worry about it.

Re: Ants!

I'm not sure if it was only coincidence, but last summer I found ants in and on several of my plnats...they all wound up with scale and then later in the grow, fungus.

granular ant baits around the plot will help control an ant problem.

Re: Ants!

Yeah Ive had ants crawl around my outdoor garden, I sprayed a anti-insect spray good for veggies on the leafs and plant, but I only see one or two, but they didnt ruin last years crop. What I have to watch out for are MOLES, DEER, and anyother animals that like to munch on chronic. Its really funny, The Deer ignored 3 males and just chomped my Female down, but you can tell the deer got full and stopped halfway haha. but I fixed that problem now im about 4 weeks from outdoor harvest! I still have to post recent pics of my lady, we finally got rain for my Virginia Red plant and just checked her this mornin and the buds grew another half inch taller and about quarter inch thicker!
