Re: Warning, check cache before plot!

Gives growers yet another factor to be concerned about.

Lol! I believe that's a good thing that none are on your roof. I don't think the cachers would be mentally prepared to climb up a wall and see your jungle lol! It does give growers one more thing to be concerned about, that's why I posted it!

Lol I'm glad I said something too! This was actually my hope for something like this to happen and someone post about it. It shows how vulnerable we are to the enviornment we put our ladies in. We need to make sure these spots are perfect

Re: Warning, check cache before plot!

Bumping this for sticky? This is some excellent information I have never seen posted on this site before and I think it's infinitely valuable for plot selection and protection. Anyone else agree?

Haha, thanks for the bump for a sticky! Yup, I sure think it's valuable or I wouldn't have put a warning in the title! Lol

Re: Warning, check cache before plot!

Holy crap I just checked the spot where I plan to grow and found a geocache. I'm super pissed but at the same time may have avoided getting booked / ripped. I know what I'm doing tonight! Hopefully it isn't too close to where I actually plan to grow. I can't thank you enough Spudder! + rep

Re: Warning, check cache before plot!

If there is a geocache by your spot, move. The geocachers, even if you take the geocache, will put another one back there. If it's even anywhere close I think I would move it. Geocaching is finding the cache based on GPS coordinants so they could easily stumble upon your plot coming from a different direction then everyone else. Good luck Trapper, let me know what happens!

Type in your zip code and near the top it should say "Search for Cache using Google Maps" and you can scroll around on the map to see if there are any near your plot. It's much more beneficial to enter an address to search from so you can follow the map from your house to see if any are nearby.

god dammit what kind of faggot ass shit is this... burring useless shit in the ground, how the fuck is this not littering. theres a few near my area, but i still dont understand what were worried about as the terrain is not easily walked, ie someone looking for this shit wouldnt "stumble" upon my shit on foot. are we just worried about satelite images of people looking for the treasure boxes and accidently seeing the plots??

is there anyway to dig this shit up and throw it away delete the plot online or whatever...

I wouldn't go that far to call people those sorts of names, but I'd say some people have too much time on their hands and like to wonder around all over with GPS units to find and log their newly discovered cache. I picture two guys with their GPS units finding their cache and giving an epic high five... not something I'd spend my time doing, but obviously a ton of people do this.. so good info, vote for sticky x 2!

More worried about some being buried near people's plots, those people can wander from all directions to find them so I don't want any anywhere near my plots at all, lucky there isn't any.

i didnt call anyone any names i was referring to this dick ass game, but i do appreciate your help. it pisses me off that people can be burying boxes of useless shit and thats not considered littering or bad for the environment.

"Cachers have been approached by police and questioned when they were seen as acting suspiciously. Other times, investigation of a cache location after suspicious activity was reported has resulted in police and bomb squad discovery of the geocache.[21][22] A number of caches have been destroyed by bomb squads"

this is RIDICULOUS i LOVE to see my hard earned tax money go to the sheriffs office so they can piddle around with some kids digging up a pencil box full of waste, and bringing in the bomb squad to destroy this worthless treasure all while it takes them 20 minutes to come resuscitate a guy who almost died in paralysis today

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching

guess if the cops stumble on me back in my plot with a shovel in my hand i can hold my gps in the air and tell them im digging for treasure and i didnt even notice the plants...

thanks again spudder this should def be a sticky

That's pretty funny that they blew them up like bombs though, start a club 420 against Geocachers and just go find them wandering around and harass them.

haha if only i didnt have to be a normal human being and work a real job...

what kills me is most of these people are probably at least 16 and up to drive around to find these things or to even OWN a gps... i remember what i was doing when i was 16 and it sure as hell wasnt this. what happened to roasting a bowl and goin to a party... im not even old and i already know why old people hate young people
