Are you supposed to change the soil once it starts flowering? And if so how?

And finally, Is 2 gallons a big enough pot for a autoflower?
id go with 80 Fox farms HF and 20 perlite too add drainage, you could use 30perlite and 70 FFHF, to improve drainage (soil dries faster, and easier to flush since it drains well)

i suggest you go with organic nutrients (better taste, smell and aroma) here's some different fertilizers; High Tech Garden Supply

BioCanna, Botanicare, Fox farms, GH's floranova, AN's Mother Earth and Iguana are some of the most trusted organic nutrients.

use the veg nutes during vegging and the bloom during flowering, auto's usualy start flowering when they're 3 weeks old (3rd-4th internode), but id start giving bloom at 4-5 weeks old, it all depends on how long is your auto set to live (some are ready at week 8, some 9, some 10, or more)

2 gallon is fine for an autoflower, but if she's supposed to go for 9 weeks or more i suggest u go with a 5 gallon, u'll get more buds!!!
look at these buds;http://forum.grasscity.com/outdoor-g...-style-70.html
i think he's using 25 or 45 gallon growbags with MM's#2 (there's some ruderalis "auto" in the MM#2 but it doesnt flowers as quick as autos)

and no you're not supposed to change the soil, but u can top the soil with worm castings, bat guano and suchs (when u'll water the topping it'll feed the plants)

good luck and keep growing!

so is it possible they've eaten all the manures and castings already? how long is slow release with organic pellets? and would it be safe to add a bit of the pellets again?
Same thing happening to one of my plants. It could be the soil around it too. I don't think they ate all the food you gave em. It might be a pH lock out. What water are you using? It should be pH 6 about. Much more or less will make the plant locked out from the nutrients.

Use baking soda, lime to raise the ph/ apple cider vinegar, lemon juice to raise it. I don't know the proportions but you can google it. People also change their pH water with pH+ and -, and also some acids but I'm not sure how. OR try using another water. Also try just flushing with some good pH water. When plant doesn't eat the food you give it, the food stays in the soil in form of salts and that's no good. Later man.

Re: Outdoor Grow Guide

When you fertilize do you mix in the fertilizer w/ the water or do you put the fertizilizer on the top of the soil and then water?

i hope its not ph lock up....
ive only water 3 time with ph buffered(5.5-6.5) 50% solution of organic nutes since mid-june and once with an untested(ph) solution of epsom salt(1tbs/g).... we've been gettin been a lot of rain so far(all-time record in my area for july 20cm and we had 38mm on the 28th) the pic is a local crop after that damn 38mm in one day
97229.jpg

i went to another plot today and one of my ladies was drowned (lots of clay and i made a big hole because i was supposed to put a big mother, but i changed my mind)
the same minor N defiency seemed to have gotten to my blueberry(same strain as the others with N defiency) but the mango is doing great, she was about a 9 inches shorter than the blue and she's the same height now!
i guess the blues are N hoggers, and hope its not ph lock-up, ill bring along a ph tester next time.
would it be an accurate test if i plant the probe on the edge of my hole so i touch less roots?

thx again corto!

depends on what kind of nutes you're using.... the nutes i was referring to in my earlier post were all some you mix with water(and people usually ph test the solution after mixing it, so it can be buffered if needed, before application) but some pellets and organic matters(manures, castings, guano, etc) are put on top or in the soil mix

the best advice i can give you about using fertilizers is; read the instructions, and go organic!

Haha. It's really not that hard. it was about what raises (baking soda, lime, ashes) and lowers pH (vinegar, lemon juice). Usually outdoor grows regulate the pH on their own and you don't need to change anything.

The bases are covered when you have the goood sauce as a cook but I spell it SAWS (stealth, airy soil mix, water and sun).

Sure man bring it on. I didn't try it this year as I was afraid I'd break the few branches I have. Maybe next year as flowering is about to begin now. Pm me a link and I'll post it if possible. Thanks.

1. Cup for 1st 2 weeks or so is good. Window will is no good because it filters good rays from the sun (weaker) and plant will be siturbed by indoor lights.
2. See Dankohzee's soil mix or others in outdoor grow guide (or other). It must have 20-30 max airy stuff (perlite or other like hay, straw). You could do 20 straw, 50 outdoor native soil, 30 composted horse shit. If you're in the northern hem. it's too late now to get much (less than 1/2 oz per plant now).
3. Garden centers.

Read tjhe outdoor grow guide or other and stickies on GC. Good luck.
