Kind words indeed. You left out oldest, and most crotchety.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement.

Pre Thanksgiving Update

Man I love Thanksgiving. Gonna have 2 turkeys and a ham...one roasted and I'm gonna fry my first one...normally I smoke 'em.

Anyhow I'm hopefully optimistic that the two Sativa X Ice plants are girls...they've got this girlish look to the preflowers but still too soon to tell for sure. I tried the macro thing on the camera but nothing came out in focus.

I did get these shots for my pictorial update...maybe this way I'll keep up with what's going on and how long it takes.

In reverse order I will start with the next generation vegetating in the growbox.

Notice the volunteer seedling in the upper left pot. I can only imagine it came from a seed that was in the compost.

These are the two flowering girls and what I believe to be the two Sativa X Ice girls (in font).

Next Power Skunk flowering nicely.

And my home-made hermi seed LB2

And Just because...LB2 silhouetted against the morning sky

Yep. Got a fryer for my B.D. and all I've done with it was a low country boil. I'm gonna brave the hot oil and fry my first. I think I've got it planned out ok.

Growing is a never ending endeavor. After the babies go out end of December will root and veg cuttings from them and maybe start some seeds.

Re: Winter Garden 08

Happy Thanksgiving y'all. I can't believe my luck lately. Out of five seeds I am almost certain that I have five girls. Four for sure females outside and the LB1 X Ice seedling is maturing in the growbox with distinct female pre-flowers.

I took two cuttings from the Sativa #2 X Ice plants now that they have shown sex. I also started three Blueberry X Ice seeds (Blue Ice). I hope a lot of the Blueberry stone comes thru. I'm still a little effected from that what I smoked around 10:00 a.m.

I tasted one but I'm about to partake of some cookies. Very excellent "green tea" like flavor. I am going to have to pace myself waiting for the chilluns to come.

Very nice plants Oldskool. It's crazy to see mj in the "winter".

What do you mean "my homemade hermi" (it looks like a girl to me!).

When will they be ready?

I saw your fertilzer "osmocote" in a store here. On the pack it said it was a 25 year old brand. It must be good. But it's not organic and slow release. Why'd you change ferts? Taste?

I'll be going with fish emulsion , blood meal (N), bat guano, bone meal (P) and Sea weed (K). Do you know of an organic source of K? I'm not sure I want to go get the sea weed at the beach in the winter. What's your strain of choice on this batch?

The home-made hermi Seed. This seed came from a plant of mine that popped male blossoms (nanners) last February. I got three seeds but only one germinated.

I'm not sure when the plants will be ready...the seedbank notes say Power Skunk finishes in 55 days. It has been flowering for 2 weeks so another month and a half maybe mid January. The hermi momma was a long flowering sativa dom plant...14 weeks but this plant doesn't have many of the original's traits.

The other two plants are just now starting to flower and they are a cross of a long flowering sativa female and an Ice male. The Ice has a 8 week flowering time. So again I will harvest when the plant says it is ready.

The Osmokote is good stuff IMO. I started using the plant-tone and tomato-tone with this run...the crude analysis and all of the good stuff in it made me decide to give it a try...so far it is amazing.

As for Potasium...Greensand is a good source.

Again thanks for checking in.

Mollases has a good amount of K. if you are looking organic you can go to a hipie store and look for the highest amount of pottasium on the label. Grandmas or mild flavor mollases are not as good as full flavor or blackstrap. Oldskool whats greensand?

Used as a soil amendment and fertilizer, Greensand is mined from deposits of minerals that were originally part of the ocean floor. Contains about 3% total potash, along with iron, magnesium, silica and as many as 30 other trace minerals.
