bud rot, black powder.

some of my buds are turning lightish brown

id show a pic but cellcam makes it sketchy


any info on this black powder that i found on some buds and leaves would be appreciated

its on the same plant with the suspected budrot

bud rott is mushrooms so it will spread averywhere on your precious plant. You need to harvest to save what's still good. Or cut out bad part and spray something on the good buds/plant against rot (I think it's hydroxide peroxide not sure check). Don't smoke rotten bud (you can put the shroom in your lungs). Danger!

not mushrooms but is sort of close. its a mold/fungus. not the kind of mushrooms you want to eat! lol. but yeah i had some rot on my shit and i just harvested b/c it was soo close to harvest point anyways, spraying shit on it wouldnt have dont much.

I would harvest before mold starts to grow on my buds. That should be easy to remember Holy Schnikies, Skurfy

To the OP...Yes, fungus will spread and eventually kill your entire plant. Cut the affected branches when there isn't any dew or moisture on the buds. Put the cut branch in a bag with a minimum of shaking to prevent spreading the spores.

You can inhibit the spread a bit by spraying everything thoroughly with a solution of 1 part milk and 3 parts water after you've gotten the infected branches off. Baking Soda dissolved in water can also help disrupt the fungus' growth.

Assorted other fungicides are commercially available, but it's hard to kill mold without using stuff that is harmful for human consumption...especially with MJ cause we smoke that stuff.

Oh, I've read that Neem Oil will inhibit fungus growth as well.
