Dankohzee's Outdoor Cheese/Trainwreck Grow

What's up GC? Here's a few pics of my '08 grow. I have Cheese and Trainwreck this year. The Chesse is about 6 feet tall already. I started them under a Hydrofarm Fluorescent, moved to a 1000 watt hps for a month, and them put them in the ground in at the beginning of May. Same story for the Cheese. They're much shorter and bushier--the biggest only reaching 4 feet so far. This is the first time I have used seed bank seed, and it was a real learning experience. The strains I am growing seem to be unbelievably sensitive to nutes--i zapped them twice! I'm using earthjuice and had to dilute it to 1/4 strength. But all that is behind me now and the plants are starting to bud quite well. Sorry the pics aren't better--i'm not much of a photographer! Blessings.

The third and fifth pics from the top are Trainwreck. The rest are Cheese. Right before they began to bud I gave them an extensive pruning. This is a technique my dad uses and so it's what I have always done. If the plants look a little sparse, that's why. After this year, however, I have decided to break from family tradition. I no longer think this is beneficial to the plants and will not do it next year. By the way, this field is a major thoroughfare for tons and tons of deer. There are so many that the place where I have the TW could be compared to the intersection of I-5,10,and 15 in Los Angeles. The fences aren't there to keep the deer from eating them--they're to keep them from knocking them down! I use Liquid Fence to keep them from dining on my herb, but I think this is even unnecessary. I've always heard stories of deer eating MJ, but it has never personally happend to me. I think they prefer to eat plants that are familiar to them. If you like my pics, give me reps my friends.

Nice early stuff. You don't worry about choppers in your area?

If I worried any more I'd have to take something a lot stronger than indica to calm my nerves! The policy in my state is that they no longer do fly-overs at random looking for crops. If they have specific info they will check it out, but other than that, they just don't search for needles in the hay field. The national guard, on the other hand, does. But they concentrate there efforts in areas where they are likely to find large scale ops--like national forest areas. Think about how difficult it would be to notice a few plants of a particular species in an endless sea of plants from 500 feet in the air. Do a google search and try to find busts in your area. Realistically, it just doesn't happen that much--relatively speaking. Thanks for the props though man.

Yeah, it grows some gungy stuff. Incidentally, i've found out through a ton of research that those who are having really good like with the cheese outdoor are often growing is somewhat gravelly soil. The spot where I have mine is so nice i didn't want to abandon it--even when I started digging and realized that the soil was rockier than any I had ever grown in. But i'm telling you, they love it.

Lking good man!!

I moved one of my trainwrecks out June first; had to tie her down because of height. She is now four foot tall, five feet wide, and six feet deep with many mant bud sites. My others were put out the weekend of the Fourth, and they are growing more than an inch per day. I figure Sept 1-15th will be first 12/12 period. These babies are gonna be big! Tallest is now 6'6"" and going strong. I cannot seem to over water or over feed them. Most are Kalichakra from Mandala Seed, one Chiva, and two Mandala No. 1.
13 plants total. If I let them go, is there some way to predict my product weight? They say 500 grams per m/sq, which does not help me. Any ideas???
Good work, keep it up!!!

By the way, I'm in Northern Oregon; anyone know when the 12/12 might begin??

I hope for five lbs from 13 plants. Am I dreaming or high???

Thanks for replys.

Naw Higel, it doesn't work like that outdoor. You should be showing sex right now--and some pre-flowers real soon. You'll be seeing the beginning of some buds within the next couple of weeks. Are those local TW's or are they from GHS? Mine showed female about two weeks ago and looked like they were going to start budding like crazy right away, but they're still in the preflower stage. These things are dense though--tons and tons of budsites. Really round too--little potbellies. I have five, but only three of them are going to really amount to much. I made some mistake, so I won't blame GHS just yet. But do they ever stink! Wheeeew! Post some pics my friend. Blessings.

Aw man, Higel. That oregon soil is like steroids to the ganja. I would love to be growing up there. Lemme tell you, if your wrecks are anything like mine, you're going to get a shit-ton of nugs as they say here in in the mid-atlantic. The internodes are so tight--it's like the whole plant is going to be one big bud. My tallest is now about 4.5 feet and showing preflowers. I doubt they'll get more than another foot taller at most, but that's fine with me. Lets see some damn pics kid!

Just went out to check on the plants today and and man-o-man are they looking good. The Trainwreck is sort of stuck in between the preflower and flower cycle, but the Cheese is going nuts. I'm really developing a great deal of affection for this strain. They seem to love the slightly gravelly soil I have them in. These things started flowering immediately upon showing sex. They have so many branches--it's crazy. And nice healthy branches too. The buds are starting to show up all over the place. These girls are vigorous, fairly uniform, stinky as hell, and a fine example of top quality genetics in nearly every way. Of course, the proof is in the pudding. Can't give my final estimation until harvest when I get to smoke it. The trainwreck doesn't seem quite as stable and uniform, but they really had a tough childhood, so I won't blame Greenhouse Seeds. More pics on monday or tuesday. Blessings.
