so ive been told that mulch will help the plants stay waterd.. is this true or a myth.

I just watched a grow video that explained this

.

It covers the your soil so your plant stays watered much longer as the sun cannot evaporate the water directly from the soil.

sick becuase im going away on wendsay for 3 days and im thinkin i should lay down some mulch and also put a 2L bottle of water next to it with a pin hole in it so it drains very slowely.. anyone every tried this.

Next time use polymer crystals in your soil...2" of compost will double the length of time between watering in my experience... if your going gorilla style make sure to use a top layer of leaves from the surrounding area so your straw doesn't stand out to much...
